Irish Aran Sweaters
Typically, when you think of cardigans for men, you imagine aged men, slippers, pipes, gray, brown and black and a general lack of stylish good sense.
However the cardigan is creating a comeback with lots of celebs, such as Daniel Craig, David Beckham and even Mark Ronson, pairing it with suits or jeans for an entire fresh look.
The creation of the cardigan is credited to James Thomas Brudenell, the seventh Earl of Cardigan, a Uk military services commander who wore them during the Crimean War the middle-1800s. He thought them wise, armed forces attire.
They were greatly well-known with fishermen as they supplied invaluable security from the cold while out at ocean. Next, obviously, they became the domain of the older generation for much the exact same reasons before becoming the stylish item they're nowadays.
It is not really clear when or just how they became part of popular culture but now they're here it appears they're here to stay!
A latest research presented that 75% of ladies found guys in cardigans gorgeous, 87% said the cardigan shows that a guy is confident and comfy with his sexuality. Cardigan wearers are seen as trustworthy and are thought about husband material by 54% of ladies, although 76% mentioned it gave guys an air of intelligence.
48% of guys aged 18-35 mentioned they've worn a cardigan on a date, 23% have worn one to work, and 14% to a marriage. Today that is versatility for you!
Nowadays cardigan models and designs are a definite step forward from the ones our granddads used to wear, as are the colors used. Generally there are lots of designer fashion labels and high street labels providing a range of cardigans today, underlining their resurgence.
However, most of those ranges include at the least one 'vintage' design cardigan, showing that even the grandfather look has its place in the stylish world today!
As has been mentioned, you could put a cardigan on with jeans, a shirt and also a tie for a smart / casual, comfy look, ideal for a night out or perhaps general day to day use, although wearing a cardigan under a match adds an air of sophistication & intelligence.
The flexible designs and also yarns used to create present cardigans make them best suited for most events, as does the type of fastenings - ties, zips or even buttons.
It is this flexibility that has led to numerous larger name stylish houses making their varies.
Quills Woolen cardigans tend to be heavy as well as practical, best suited for cold weather, although irish sweaters are lighter and more stylish, perfect for finishing off a look.
Differences on the practical vs the stylish are plentiful, again underlining the cardigan's versatility.
The very best strategy to use a cardigan, whether it's under a suit or over a t-shirt or shirt, is to use it relatively close to the body - avoid a baggy cardigan as these basically create you look chunky, never a great look for anyone!
Additionally in case it just does not look right no matter what, do not use it. Not everyone could pull off the cardigan - take your grandfather as a case in point!

On the totem trail .. a stroll around Kenmare, Co.Kerry
Kenmare. A great example of an Irish 'totem town'. That is, it is 'classicially' Irish - but actually not truly representative of Irish towns at all. It is a totem of what we imagine Irish towns to be.
Its problem is that it is simply too nice & too tidy. Let's be honest - Irish towns are generally pretty ramshackle.
While 'totem towns' like Kenmare (or Killarney, Kinsale, Dingle or Westport) are nice to have - they are misleading.
Some better examples of a typical Irish town would probably be Edenderry, Tuam, Tullamore or Swords. Sure, they have their good points - but would you book a hotel to spend a weekend there?
