Situation -: Situated on Farrukhnagar-Jhajjar road, near old gate of Farrukhnagar town.
Under protection of -: Government of India
Period -: 18th Century AD
History and description -: An old baoli or step-well was built by Ghaus Ali Shah, a local chief during the reign of Mughal emperor Farrukh Siyar. Built out of stone, lime plaster and bricks, this baoli wears some resemblance with the Turkish hammam. The water tank in the centre is surrounded by a verandah with well-framed arches on all sides. There are also chambers for relaxation and recreation on the upper storeys.

Grave of Ibrahim Lodhi
The tomb is situated near Tehsil Office at Panipat. Ibrahim Lodhi fought fiercely with Babur, in the battle known to us today as the “First Battle of Panipat” and was slain and buried at this place. It was one of Sher Shah Suri’s dying regret that he could never fulfill his intention of erecting a tomb to the fallen monarch. Much later, the British erected a plain plateform over the place, with a short Urdu Insscription on it.
Another memorial of some kind, however, appears to have existed which used to form a place of pilgrimage for the people of Gwalior since Vikramaditya the last Raja of the old Towrebs dyansty of Gwalior, fell in the same battle. This memorial, according to general Cunningham, was destroyed when the Grand Trunk Road was made.
THIS HISTORIC GRAVE IS SITUATED AROUND 90 KM FROM THE CAPITAL OF INDIA NEW DELHI. IT BELONGS TO IBRAHIM LODHI. AS A RESULT OF THE FIRST BATTLE OF PANIPAT BETWEEN BABAR AND IBRAHIM LODHI, IBRAHIM LODHI WAS KILLED IN THE BATTLEFIELD. THIS PRESENT OPEN TOMB WAS BUILT BY THE BRITISH IN 1866 WHEN THEY WERE WIDENING THE GRANT TRUCK ROAD(GT ROAD),ACTUALLY IT WAS MOVED FROM ITS ORIGINAL PLACE. IT IS BELIEVED THERE WAS A MEMORIAL MONUMENT OF KING VIKRMADITYA OF GWALIOR AT THE NEAR BY PLACE BUT THAT MONUMENT WAS DESTROYED AND WIPED OFF FROM THE HISTORY.

Have We Forgotten Razia Sultan?
The tomb of Razia Sultan, India's first female Muslim ruler lies in ruins in Kaithal, Haryana. Raiza Sultan was the Sultan of Delhi from 1236 to 1240. One of the few female sovereigns of the Islamic civilization, she was also a wise ruler, and would have been of one the most powerful Sultans had she not encountered tremendous resistance from the nobility. Aware of the power she held, and opposed to the patriarchal traditions of the court, Razia insisted on being addressed as a Sultan and not as a Sultana, which referred to the wife or the mistress of a Sultan. Razia Sultan was killed in 1240 and supposedly buried in Kaithal, Haryana. But today, the tomb of this great figure of Indian history is forgotten and dilapidated. Kumar Mukesh, our Community Correspondent in Haryana, is very familiar with the area, and thus knows about the existence of the site. But in Kaithal very few are still aware of the presence of this piece of heritage on the outskirts of the city. The tomb, that used to be a place for worship and prayers, is now in disrepair and ignored by the residents. The appalling state of the tomb is largely due to the negligence of the government. As with many sites in India, the grave was owned by a Muslim before Partition, and was handed over to the Indian Government at the time of Independence. But no investments have been made to maintain and beautify the site, which has resulted in the lack of tourists. Thus, the site is slowly abandoned and falling in ruins. Kumar has already written to the government officials, requesting them to take action to renovate the site. Because he received no reply and did not see any signs of improvement, Kumar now wishes that his video helps the change to happen, and sparks citizens' will to preserve their heritage.

Praying to the Djinns at Feroz Shah Kotla Fort - Delhi
Devotees in large number gather every thursday at Feroz Shah Kotla Fort in Delhi to offer prayer to the Djinns and write letters, stick coins to the walls of the mosque, offer milk, sweets, fruits and even meats to the Djinns, all with the single objective of appeasing the 'unhappy spirits' and getting a long-cherished wish fulfilled. There is a great believe that by doing so wishes are fulfilled by the Djinns......
Jinn or djinn are supernatural creatures in Islamic mythology as well as pre-Islamic Arabian mythology. They are mentioned frequently in the Quran (the 72nd sura is titled Sūrat al-Jinn) and other Islamic texts and inhabit an unseen world in dimensions beyond the visible universe of humans. The Quran says that the jinn are made of a smokeless and scorching fire,but are also physical in nature, being able to interfere physically with people and objects and likewise be acted upon. The jinn, humans and angels make up the three sapient creations of God. Like human beings, the jinn can be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent and hence have free will like humans and unlike angels. The shaytan jinn are the analogue of demons in Christian tradition, but the jinn are not angels and the Quran draws a clear distinction between the two creations. The Quran states in surat Al-Kahf (The Cave), Ayah 50, that Iblis (Satan) is one of the jinn.

Heritage Walk Glimpses : Tughluqabad - the cursed city!
Glimpses from our recent Heritage Walk at Tughluqabad : The Cursed City
============================================
Full Tour video can be found here:
=========================================
History is full of those who through sheer grit and determination rose from humble beginnings to become Kings and Sultans. One such story is that of Ghazi Malik, Sultan Alauddin Khilji's commander who ushered in a new dynastic era in the history of Delhi by establishing the Tughluq rule. The massively fortified fourth city of Delhi is unique due to it's impregnable walls. But how did a Sultan's obsession become a curse so powerful to befall this city that even today it echoes in it's abandoned ramparts.
Join the Karavan as Asif Khan Dehlvi traces stories of this cursed city, stories of a Sufi and a Sultan.
About Tughluqabad: The fort was built by Sultan Ghiyasuddin Tughluq (1321-1325 AD) in 1321 AD. It is sprawled across an area covering 6 square kilometers.
Event: We will be visiting the fort, discussing its varied features, and the tomb of Sultan Ghiyasuddin Tughluq, that lies adjacent to the fort.
BEST WAY TO REACH: If coming from Gurgaon, take a right turn onto MB Rd at Qutub Minar and after crossing the intersection of Batra Hospital, drive on for another 2 Kms. and on your left, you will see the massive walls of the Fort. Tughlaqabad Fort Complex on MB Rd has adequate parking space.
Those coming by the Metro from Gurgaon, get down at Saket and take auto or bus to reach the meeting point on MB Road itself.
Nearest Metro Stn is 'Govindpuri', on Violet Line (Badarpur Track) and a 5 Km. Auto-rick ride will bring you to the fort gates. DTC buses also ply on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road with regular frequency.
PLEASE NOTE
1- The terrain sometimes involves climbing atop few walls and sometimes walking sedately on rolling grass, so preferably wear a pair of good walking shoes. Not that we will stop any flip-flop wearers from joining us!
2- A bottle of drinking water.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:

SUMMARY
=======
Delhi (, Hindi pronunciation: [dɪlliː] Dillī, Punjabi pronunciation: [dɪlliː] Dillī, Urdu pronunciation: [dɛhliː] Dehlī), officially the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), is a city and a union territory of India containing New Delhi, the capital of India.
It is bordered by Haryana on three sides and by Uttar Pradesh to the east. The NCT covers an area of 1,484 square kilometres (573 sq mi). According to the 2011 census, Delhi's city proper population was over 11 million, the second-highest in India after Mumbai, while the whole NCT's population was about 16.8 million. Delhi's urban area is now considered to extend beyond the NCT boundaries and include the neighboring satellite cities of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Sonipat, Ghaziabad and Noida in an area now called Central National Capital Region (CNCR) and had an estimated 2016 population of over 26 million people, making it the world's second-largest urban area according to United Nations.
As of 2016, recent estimates of the metro economy of its urban area have ranked Delhi either the most or second-most productive metro area of India. Delhi is the second-wealthiest city in India after Mumbai, with a nominal economy of $110 billion for the entire Union Territory, and is home to 18 billionaires and 23,000 millionaires.Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BCE. Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and modern Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region.
A union territory, the political administration of the NCT of Delhi today more closely resembles that of a state of India, with its own legislature, high court and an executive council of ministers headed by a Chief Minister. New Delhi is jointly administered by the federal government of India and the local government of Delhi, and serves as the capital of the nation as well as the NCT of Delhi. Delhi hosted the first and ninth Asian Games in 1951 and 1982, respectively, 1983 NAM Summit, 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup, 2010 Commonwealth Games, 2012 BRICS Summit and was one of the major host cities of the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
Delhi is also the centre of the National Capital Region (NCR), which is a unique 'interstate regional planning' area created by the National Capital Region Planning Board Act of 1985.
