today me and the mrs and our youngest spent the afternoon exploring the small woods other side of the bypass where we find lots of evidence of the of the old base which was RAF Skellingthorpe aka Birchwood estate as it is now known
Haunted RAF Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire - EVPs on Dispersals and Aircraft sound
An investigation in 2012 in Ostlers Plantation - which has remains of dispersals and bomb stores of former RAF Woodhall Spa within. A very interesting place, which if I lived closer I would spend a lot more time at investigating.
I went to this location with Glen & Sally Jolly, whose kindness to me while researching RAF Woodhall Spa I will never forget
Listen to the captured aircraft flyover - we didn't hear it...this is RAF Coningsby airspace and the BBMF wasn't airborne

Bomber Come Home - The Xenon Shed
Lincoln band,The Xenon Shed, with their latest video Bomber Come Home in tribute to the brave air crews of Bomber Command in World War 2, many of whom sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
The song relates to a real life raid on Berlin which flew from Skellingthorpe near Lincoln in 1943. The famous American journalist and broadcaster Edward Murrow and some others accompanied the raid. Some did not return.
All profits from the single will be donated to the fund raising efforts of the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln.

RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast RAF Kenley Avro Lancaster PA474 Spitfire and Hurricane
Well, I didn't make it to any of the Airshows this weekend, but I made a quick trip to RAF Kenley for the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast for the anniversary of the Hardest Day

Abandoned WWII RAF Control Tower (Haunted?)
Today im joined with the bourne identity! and we went to explore this abandoned world war 2 control center/tower! as we are entering the building we start hearing noices! is this place haunted?

Old world world 2 control tower. Did go down on my own, last minute thing, 1st time I've been there and didn't know it was all bricked up on the ground floor or so I thought anyway.
RAF Ludford Magna (what’s left)

RAF Ludford Magma once Home to 101sqn and 104sqn from the Cold War witch this station was part of the nuclear era equipped with 3 PGM Thor Nuclear Missiles.
As being an RAF station it was maned by Americans as part of 1 of 5 nuclear stations. Check out RAF Caistor as we have already covered there and the launch pads are in really good condition.
So this station is privately owned and the owner gave us the tour of the station. We didn’t film everywhere because that’s what was requested by the owner.
There are still a lot of original features at this station left over. Check my pictures out.
We found the squash court, gymnasium, Nissan Huts, Water Tower, Canteen, and Control Room.

BBMF Lancaster, Spit, Hurricane flypast at Skellingthorpe (2/10/16)
Fantastic sight today where we see a Battle of Britain flypast over Skellingthorpe not once but twice!
Lancaster PA474 Flypast
Lancaster PA474 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is shown in the air over Lincolnshire, England. This aircraft is one of only 2 flying Lancasters in the world, the other at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at Mount Hope (next to Hamilton), Ontario in Canada. PA 474 is based at RAF Coningsby with the other BBMF aircraft.
