Get Out There to Red Mountain Resort, Rossland, BC
Get Out There magazine's report on the skiing, snowboarding and winter-type fun at Red Mountain Resort in Rossland, British Columbia.
The Cabin Culture of RED Mountain
Something beautifully unique here at RED Mountain is the network of hidden cabins that have been built over the years, both within bounds and just outside of RED's terrain here in Rossland.
This year marks the 80th Anniversary of the Klister Klub and 75th Anniversary of the Yodel Inn nestled within RED's terrain - just 2 of the many cabins that have been here for multiple generations. Whether these cabins are currently inhabited by the original owners, or are open to the public with a guest book and firewood waiting to warm you and your friends, each one has their own unique story.
Take a peek at some of these beautiful cabins, the characters that own them, and how this culture has helped shape RED to what it is today.

Winter's Favorite Ski Resort - RED Mountain Resort
RED Mountain Resort is not for everyone. Clearly some skiers and snowboarders like waiting in lift-lines for three hours a day and fighting for powder. Who are we to question their motivation? But if you're looking for an antidote to the stale, predictable mega-resort experience, you just found it.
RED, as we call it, as a rich history and thousands of acres of terrain for you to explore, served up by the best storms that our planet can offer.

Red Mountain Resort
RED Mountain is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, BC, along the famous Powder Highway, RED delivers 4,200 acres of pristine skiing unfettered by overdevelopment. For 2013-14, we've added nearly 1,000 acres of mostly-intermediate terrain on Grey Mountain - an entirely new peak. (Well, OK, Grey's been there for millions of years, but without runs or lifts on it.)
With 300/7.6m of annual snowfall, wide-open groomers, epic vertical (2,919ft/890m!), in-bounds cat-skiing, 360 degree descents off select peaks, a rich tradition, and – phew! — the BEST tree runs in BC, it's no wonder The NY Times voted us their #8 Best Place in the World to Visit in 2013. Other accolades include #1 in Powder's Ski Town Throwdown, and Most Underrated Resort by Skiing. Around here, we pride ourselves on fresh turns that you don't have to fight for...
Aside from the legendary skiing and snowboarding, RED boasts world-class cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, movie nights and après action in Rafters, North America's Best Ski Area Bar according to Powder Magazine (and us...). Modern ski in/out lodging, fine dining, a professional ski school, guiding, high-performance rentals, daycare that's just steps away from gourmet espresso, and a free shuttle to Rossland round out our offering. With Rossland's turn-of-the-century charm and our legendarily friendly locals, RED Mountain Resort is the full vacation package: Everything you need. Nothing you don't. (The only fluff we offer is our snow!)

RED RESORT 2015: It's All Hype
Is this place real? Or is the hype machine just plugging away, creating some unbelievable dream? Is it one of those weird Inception things? Maybe it’s little bit of everything...but for us, we just call this place home and like to consider RED the “last great, unspoiled resort”.

Rossland Winter Carnival 2016
The Rossland Winter Carnival is one of those events that you just have to witness to believe. The longest running Winter Carnival in Canada boasts an insane Boblsed Race through town, the craziest parade you will see and a downtown rail jam. Keeping it weird since 1898.
