The Egret was stirring up the mud and this had produced some bubbles. The Kingfisher was very good to see!

Wilfowl on Burton Mere Wetlands Oct 2015
High tides on the estuary pushed record numbers of ducks and geese onto Burton Mere. Over 7000 teal, 2500 pintail, 4000 pink footed geese and a whole host of other avian treats: 4 marsh harriers, 4 hen harriers, 10 short-eared owls, 4 great white egrets, 300 little egrets, king fishers and Cetti's warblers galore and regularly visible Jack Snipe.
Out on the estuary there were over 40,000 birds - it was just a carpet of birds.
What a really fantastic week for wildlife on the reserve 28/10/2015

Fishing Egrets on Burton Mere
Burton Mere used be a fishery. There are no large fish there now, but there are plenty to keep the egrets busy!
These seem to be feeding on Bream

Neston Marsh
Amazing morning out over the maersh lands near to Neston. Something other worldly about the scenery here and amazingly, it looks this good from only 400 ft, although it parts, it looks like outer space. Top tip though. Take wellies.
