Barbel Fishing With Carp Gear
Alan Blair visits his good friend and top angler, Des Taylor who guides him on the River Severn. Both Des and Alan have a great day out using similar tackle and tactics to their usual carp fishing approach, instead with a few tweaks to catch barbel, which are a great target for those carp anglers wanting to try something a little different.

Music at 19:18 is by Blackmill:
Our channel, Carl and Alex Fishing was launched in 2013. Our aim was to inspire people to go fishing, because at the time we did not have many friends who fished. Over the years we have filmed carp fishing, coarse fishing, fly fishing, bass fishing and even a bit of saltwater angling.

The Great Ouse flooding in Bedford, UK.
The Great Ouse Flooding. The water flowed from the upper river through the lake on the right into into the lower river on the left. When I was a very young child this was a playground for me and I often go back just to sit there and ponder on the ebb and flow of life.
Ouse is an Old English word for river. Thus the Great Ouse River should read the Great River River. Thanks you QI for that little nugget of information.

Liz Shewan - Work in Progress in her Art Studio | Landscape Lyme Regis Golden Cap
This is me painting the beginnings of a landscape overlooking Lyme Regis with the Golden Cap in the distance ... it's not finished yet!
I didn't have time to do any music this time, it takes so long and I don't have enough time to do it all at the moment ... so this time I have added a recording of a rather insistant, I must admit, bird in the background ... but listen out for the woodpecker! He's in there and it was him just the other day ... love him.

Bowmans Mill, Bedfordshire
This is an ongoing development loan.
First Stage:
I approached Wellesley Finance for a £1.7m development loan over a period of 12 months to purchase and convert a derelict watermill built in 1847. The deal that was struck saw the loan secured upon the watermill at an average loan to value rate of 55% with an exit strategy of sale of the site on completion.
Why I picked Wellesley:
Wellesley was recommended to me by an associate from up North, he suggested I contact the company due to their straightforward nature to gain finance. Previous to gaining funding via Wellesley, I had struggled to secure a financer and had one previously pull out on the two year struggle. So far, I have found Wellesley’s attitude towards Bowmans Mill and my vision hugely positive, their ‘can do’ approach is refreshing and I am looking forward to working with them throughout this development.
Wellesley goes to visit:
This was Wellesley’s second visit to Bowmans Mill after our preliminary visit to assess the site to see if we could assist Steve. The site is impressive and we were excited to be shown around and to hear Steve’s plans of how he is going to breathe fresh life into the mill whilst maintaining its traditional milling roots. Steve’s project is planned for completion in the autumn of 2015. We are going to be visiting Bowmans Mill half way through the development and at the finish and will be documenting the journey throughout.

Felmersham - A 7.5 Mile Hike.
I hiked from Felmersham, meandering through the countryside on public right of way footpaths, passing the villages of Odell, Pavenham and Radwell along the way. Felmersham is in Bedfordshire. Parts of the walk include the banks of the River Great Ouse. A favourite of mine to paddle in my canoe.

Foggy Golf Course Oil Painting Time Lapse
This video is a time lapse of my painting process to create a foggy landscape scene of the 18th hole at the East Course at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York. (I accidentally said the West Course in this video!) The painting was created using oil paint on 12x16 canvas.

Garden City Greenway - Full circuit July 2015
An update in July 2015 cycling around the Letchworth Garden City Greenway from Stotfold to Radwell, Norton, Baldock, Jackmans, Willian, Wymondley Wood, Purwell on the edge of Hitchin, Letchworth Golf Course area, Harkness Roses, Highfield, Fearnhill, Wilbury Hills (passed The Gardeners Arms at 30:45, now infamous in the Simon Pegg movie The Worlds End) and touching the edges of Standalone farm and the Grange Estate.
It is noticeable that many of the pathways have been re-laid or upgraded since my last outing. It is still a wonderful diverse ride all the way round with greats views, solitude, and interesting areas of beauty.
Much of the eastern route running alongside the A1 is on National Cycle Route 12 and some of the Great North Way -
Covering town, residential, industrial, rolling Hertfordshire hills and areas of outstanding natural beauty including some great views, local attractions, some roads and many remote dedicated recreational country paths around Letchworth, Baldock, Willian and the edge of Hitchin in North Hertfordshire - England, UK.
There are 60 numbered way point markers on the route marked on the Greenway website's map: - some markers are more battered and weathered than others but they are slowly being replaced and are marked on the video to show where you are on the route.
Alternative Map of Route:
This film is speeded up by 225% - It takes roughly 1.5 - 2 hours on a clear day with no wind and has a number of semi-challenging hill climbs and descents. Just over 13 miles all the way round.
