Amanda dons her hiking boots to discover why over a thousand Gdansk residents are willing to hike the 500km to the Black Madonna of Czestochowa, joining thousands of others making the pilgrimage across this 90 per cent Catholic country.
After a gruelling 12km, the 48 crew swap the sweaty tarmac for breezy railtrack thanks to Tomek, a local train enthusiast and entrepreneur whose handcarting enterprise represents Poland's new wave of small businesses that are helping to keep the Polish economy on the rails.
Even before the recent global financial crisis, not everyone felt included in the country's booming economy, as we discover when singer and self-appointed man-of-the-people Bartek takes us out on his day job door-to-door internet selling in one of Europe's biggest housing blocks. After meeting the masses, Bartek takes us to one of the subjects of his satire, the heavily gentrified beach resort Sopot where he vents his anger, in song, on the highstreet.

A memorable day !

Pieskowa Skała castle was built by King Casimir III the Great, and is one of the best-known examples of a defensive Polish Renaissance architecture. It was erected in the first half of the 14th century as part of the chain of fortified castles called Orle Gniazda (Eagles Nests), along the highland plane of the Polish Jura.

Along The Railroad 2018 | Abandoned Poland
Join me during a 22 miles long journey along the railroad. In this video, I follow the abandoned railroad line number 190 from Bielsko-Biała towards Cieszyn in Poland. I visit every station on my way to do some climbing at the end and watch fireworks.
2018 was a bad year, I had to withdraw from the university and go back to Poland. I even lost my flashlight on this adventure, but there cannot be a worse year than the worst, so now everything will be better.
The line was abandoned in 2009 and no-one knows the future of it for sure, it's really damaged.

Remagen is a town in Germany in the Land Rhineland-Palatinate, in the district of Ahrweiler. It is about a one-hour drive from Cologne, just south of Bonn, the former West German capital. It is situated on the left bank of the River Rhine.
Located on the banks of the Rhine, this is a great little museum which gives a sense of what life was like during WW2, particularly for those living in Remagen close to the Ludendorff Bridge, and those who defended it and the american forces who captured it towards the end of the war.
