Nördlingen Railway Museum, Bavaria running steam trains
Nördlingen Railway Museum, Bavaria often run vintage trains on the local freight-only lines. This is one such weekend in July 2006.

Nordlingen and OGEG Ampflwang Railway Museums
Recorded these whilst on holiday in Germany and Austra. Unfortunately the museum at Nordlingen resembled a scrap yard in places , but the two best engines were locked away so could only spot them through the key hole in the roundhouse. Hit lucky at the Lokpark OGEG museum at ampflwang as it was a special day giving free train rides which is usually extra on the reasonable 8 euro entrance fee. Quite a good trip with superb weather included.
Größtes Eisenbahnmuseum der Welt! | National Railway Museum York (HD)

Today i show you one of my favourite towns nearby! I love it to take a little walk on the city wall and the town centre. Maybe this video is able to transmit the feeling of beeing there to you guys.
Nördlingen is a town in the Donau-Ries district, in Bavaria, Germany, with a population of approximately 24,000. It was first mentioned in recorded history in 898, and in 1998 the town celebrated its 1100th anniversary. The town was the location of two battles during the Thirty Years' War, which took place between 1618–1648. Today it is one of only three towns in Germany that still has a completely established city wall, the other two being Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbühl.
Another attraction in the town is the Saint Georg's Church's 90 m steeple, called Daniel, which is made of a suevite impact breccia that contains shocked quartz. Other notable buildings are the town hall (which dates to the 13th century), St. Salvator church and the Spital, a former medieval hospital. The Ries crater museum is located in the well-preserved medieval tanner's quarter.
The city is home to several other museums, such as the Bavarian Railway Museum, the Nördlingen city museum (Stadtmuseum), the city wall museum (Stadtmauermuseum) and Augenblick museum with panoramas, magic lanterns, silent films, barrel organs, pianolas, music boxes and gramophones.
Nördlingen is also known for the Scharlachrennen, a horse riding tournament that was first mentioned in 1463.

Bayerischen Eisenbahnmuseum Nördlingen - Steam Passenger Train
There is a splendid steam railway museum called Bayerischen Eisenbahnmuseum, Nördlingen, Germany. On occasions, they run a steam hauled passenger service on local freight-only lines. These clips were recorded on a wet and windy day, 15th April 2001.
Nordlingen, Germany - Old town area (medieval) with intact wall still standing
Going back as far as 898 A.D., it is now the only walled town in Germany where the wall is still intact all the way around it - about 3 km in total length. We visited in October 2012 and spent an entire afternoon in this charming town on the Romantic Road (Romantische Straße) of Germany, located in the region of Bavaria.

German built Tank Steam Dampflok Locomotives 64 415, 65 018 and 66 002.

Class 64 2-6-2t The Deutsche Reichsbahn had a standard passenger train tank engine with a wheel arrangement of 1'C1' (UIC classification) or 2-6-2 (Whyte notation) and a low axle load, which was designated in their classification system as the DRG Class 64 (Baureihe 64). The Class 64 was developed from 1926 onwards and it was built between 1928 and 1940. Many German manufacturers contributed to the series
Class 65 2-8-4t locomotives proved to be exceptionally reliable engines, but they could not be used universally, because their coal bunkers and water tanks were small. As a result they could only be used for short-range goods traffic.Locomotive 65 018 was given a special lightweight drive, which was later used on all the engines. This locomotive is the only representative of its class to have survived in working order and is owned by the Stoom Stichting Nederland society in the Netherlands, having been donated by a German railway museum in 1981. It was retired from Bw Aschaffenburg in 1972, the last one of these attractive locomotives to be paid off.The Class 66 2-6-4t were one of several newly designed locomotive classes, the so-called Neubauloks, built for the DB after the Second World War. The 66s had a top speed of 100 km/h and an axle load of only 15 tonnes which made them ideally suited to such duties. They were intended to replace the former state railway (Länderbahn) locomotives of DRG classes 38.10 (ex-Prussian P 8), 78 (ex-Prussian T 18) and 93 (ex-Prussian T 14). However increasing competition from diesel locomotives meant that no more engines were built after the two prototype, even though they fully met all expectations and were a very successful design. The Class 66 was the penultimate locomotive class to be built as part of the DB's Neubaulokconstruction programme.

Class 41 Number 1150 Run By at Dombühl, Bavaria, Germany
Our charter train out of the Bayrisches Eisenbahn Museum in Nördlingen, Bavaria, Germany. Class 41 1150 is a freight steam locomotive operated by the museum. This short scene is at the small village of Dombühl. DB Regio trains have a scheduled stop there, but the station building has been abandoned. Here in Dombühl a secondary, non electrified line branches off and runs via Dinkelsbühl back to Nördlingen. This line has no passenger service and sees very little freight traffic. Apparently there is a strong movement afoot to reopen this track to regional passenger service.

In Rügen Germany we visit the interesting railway and technical museum which exists since 1994. As cars and planes do not interest me, here only the railroads, where I have taken over the descriptions without comment. It is a wonderfull collection.

Train Trip To Nördlingen นั่งรถไฟไปนอร์ทลิงเง็น เยอรมัน
It is Monday September 22 and we are traveling to Nördlingen Germany from Brussels Belgium via a DB ICE train.
We are heading to my dads birthplace where he was born and left in 1938. This is the beginning of a mini documentary of my father's family prior to and after WWII. Neither he or his family ever returned after they left in 1938. It was my job to rediscover his families roots and visit homes they had left behind when they were deported. I also visited family members in a small Jewish cemetery outside the village walls who passed prior to deportation.
Our trip went very smoothly. Trains though Europe are extremely efficient, clean and quiet. We started at the Brussels Central Station and made stops in Koln, Stuttgart, Aalen and finally Nördlingen. When arriving in Nördlingen it was very interesting walking around the old station and seeing the old trains. One disturbing thing was the site of the cattle cars which were possibly used to deport Jews to various points around Europe.การเดินทางจากกรุงบรัสเซล์สู่นอร์ทลิงเง็งเยอรมันโดยทางรถไฟ
