Rajagopalaswamy temple is a Vaishnavite shrine located in the town of Mannargudi, Tamil Nadu, India. The presiding deity is Rajagopalaswamy, a form of Lord Krishna. The temple is spread over an area of 23 acres (93,000 m2) and is one of the important Vaishnavite shrines in India. The temple is called Dakshina Dwarka (Southern Dwarka) along with Guruvayoor by Hindus.The image of the presiding deity is 12 feet (3.7 m) tall. There is a big tank at the entrance of the shrine where rain water is collected. The temple complex has 16 gopurams (tower gateways), 7 prakarams (outer courtyard), 24 shrines, seven mandapams (halls) and nine sacred theerthams (temple tanks). The utsava (festival deity) is a bronze figure from the Chola period. It shows keshabanda type of coifure and restrained ornamentation, atypical of the Chola bronzes of the 11th century.The temple tank is called Haridranadhi, 1,158 feet long and 837 feet broad, making it one of the largest temple tanks in India.The temple was first constructed by Kulothunga Chola I(1070-1125 A.D.), with bricks and mortar, indicated by various stone inscription found in the site.The place Mannargudi is termed Sri Rajathi Raja Chathurvedhi Mangalam[5] and the town started to grow around the temple. Successive kings of the Chola empire, Rajaraja Chola III, Rajendra Chola III and kings of Thanjavur Nayaks, Achyuta Deva Raya expanded the temple. The current temple structure, hall of 1000 pillars, main gopuram(temple gateway tower) and the big compound wall around the temple was built by the king Vijayaraghava Nayak(1532-1575 A.D.).Panguni Thiruvizha is a festival celebrated during the Tamil calendar of Panguni(Mar-Apr) and is attended by thousands of devotees.

The ancient town of Mannargudi was just an Agraharam until the entry of Thanjavur Nayaks. The beautiful Agraharam derived its name from Mannarkovil or Rajamannarkovil. In Tamil, Mannar means 'Lord Vishnu' and Kovil means 'the abode of Vishnu'. Initially, Mannargudi was bordered by the tall compound walls of Rajagopalaswamy temple. It became popular only when Thanjavur Nayaks made it their capital and Rajagopalaswamy Temple became the centre of attraction.
Rajagopalaswamy Temple was built during the Chola dynasty but it underwent major changes during the reign of Thanjavur Nayaks. Today, Rajagopalaswamy Temple is known as 'Dakshina Dwaraka', 'Dwaraka of the South'.
Here Lord Krishna is worshipped as Rajagopalaswamy and there is a big statue of Krishna in the sanctum. The large temple premises consists of majestic gopurams, seven halls along with several small shrines.
The temple complex has intricate carvings and depicts the architecture grandeur of Cholas and Thanjavur Nayaks. The present shrine along with a 1000-pillard hall and the big compound wall was constructed by Vijaya Raghava Nayak. These later additions gave a new look the already existing temple.
Rajagopalaswamy Temple also has temple tank which is said to be one of the largest temple tanks in India. The presiding deity of Lord Krishna is worshipped with elaborate rituals on the daily basis. Today, Rajagopalaswamy Temple is one of the famous temples in Mannargudi, Tamil Nadu. As per the legends, Lord Krishna appeared in the dreams of sages Gopillar and Gopralayar. This led to the creation of this beautiful temple.
Rajagopalaswamy Temple is known for Panguni Brahmotsavam and the chariot festival. A bronze idol of Lord Krishna which belonged to Chola period is taken out for the procession during the chariot festival. Panguni Brahmotsavam is a grand temple festival which includes many rituals and traditions.
Panguni Brahmostavam is celebrated according to the traditional Tamil Calendar. It usually happens in the months of April or May. Rajagopalaswamy Temple has been one of the important Vaishnava shrines in Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu.

இராஜகோபாலசுவாமி திருக்கோயில் திருவாரூர் மாவட்டம் மன்னார்குடியில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்த கோயில் 16 கோபுரங்கள், 18 விமானங்கள், 7 பிரகாரங்கள், 7 மண்டபங்கள், 9 தீர்த்தங்கள் உள்ளன. பொதுவாக ராஜகோபுரத்தில் எல்லா நிலைகளிலும் சுதை சிற்பங்கள் இருக்கும். ஆனால் இங்குள்ள 11 நிலை ராஜகோபுரத்தில் கீழிருந்து மேலாக முதல் ஆறு நிலைகளில் சுதை, சிற்பங்கள் எதுவும் இல்லை.
ஏழாவது நிலையில் இருந்தே சுவாமி சிலைகள் வடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இத்தகையை வித்தியாசமான அமைப்பில் கோபுரத்தை காண்பது அரிது.

என்பது சொல் வழக்காக உள்ளது. இங்கிருந்து சற்று தூரத்தில் தீர்த்தக்குளம் இருக்கிறது. கிருஷ்ணரின் தரிசனம் வேண்டிய முனிவர்கள் தவமிருந்து குளம் இது. இதனை யமுனை நதியாகவே கருதுவதால் ‘ஹரித்ராநதி’ என்றே அழைக்கிறார்கள். குளமாக இருந்தாலும் நதியின் பெயரிலேயே அழைக்கப்படும் தீர்த்தம் இது. ஆனி மாத பௌர்ணமியில் இந்தத் தீர்த்தத்தில் தெப்பத்திருவிழா ஆண்டுதோறும் நடந்து வருகிறது.

திருவிழா
இத்தலப் பெருமாளை ‘நித்ய உற்சவப் பெருமாள்’ என்று அழைப்பர். ஒவ்வொரு மாதமும் இறைவனுக்கு உற்சவங்கள் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. பங்குனியில் பிரம்மோற்ஸவம் நடைபெறும். 18 நாட்கள் பல்வேறு வாகனங்களில் வந்து பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள்பாலிப்பார். அடுத்த 10 நாட்கள் விடையாற்றி உற்சவம் நடைபெற்று, இறுதியில் கோயிலுக்கு அருகில் இருக்கும் கிருஷ்ணதீர்த்தக் குளத்தில் ‘தெப்போற்சவம்’ நடைபெறும். இத்திருவிழாவின்போது பல்வேறு கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடைபெறும்.
சித்திரை, வைகாசியில் கோடை உற்சவம் நடைபெறும். ஆடி மாதத்தில் செங்கமலத்தாயாருக்கு திருவிழா நடைபெறும். ஆடிப்புரத்தன்று தாயாருக்குத் தேர் திருவிழா நடைபெறும். ஆவணி மாதம் உரியடி திருவிழா நடைபெறும். புரட்டாசி மாதம் நவராத்திரி உற்சவம் நடைபெறும். ஐப்பசி மாதம் தீபாவளி காலை பெருமாள் புறப்பாடு, ஆழ்வார்கள் மங்களாஸாசனம் கோலாட்ட உற்சவம் 10 நாட்கள் நடைபெறம்.
கார்த்திகை மாதம் ஸ்ரீ பாஞ்சராத்ர தீபம் (திருக்கிருத்திகை) ஏற்றும் விழா நடைபெறும். மார்கழி மாதம் தனுர் மாத பூஜை ஆரம்பமாகும். பகல் பத்து உற்சவம் தொடங்கி வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி அன்று பரமபத வாசல் திறப்பு நிடைபெற்று இராபத்து உற்சவம் நடைபெறும்.
தை மாதம் சங்கராந்தி பெருமாளுக்கு கொண்டாடப்படும். கனு பாரி வேட்டை குதிரை வாகனத்தில் சென்று திருமங்கை மன்னன் வேடுபறி நிகழ்ச்சி நடந்தேறும். பின் மட்டையடி உற்சவம் நடைபெறும். தை பூசத்தன்று தீர்த்தவாரி நடைபெறும். தாயாருக்கு இம்மாத வெள்ளிக்கிழமைகளில் ஊஞ்சல் உற்சவம் நடைபெறும்.
மாசி மாதம் உற்சவத் தாயாருக்கு ஊஞ்சல் உற்சவம் நடைபெறும். மாசி மகம் தீர்த்தவாரி நடைபெறும். பங்குனி மாதத்தில் பிரம்மோற்சவம் நடைபெறும்.
உற்சவ நாளில் 19 விதமான வாகனங்களில் வருவது சிறப்பானதாகும். த்வஜா ரோஹணம், புன்னை வாகனம், ஹம்ஸ வாகனம், கோவர்த்தனகிரி, பஞ்சமுக ஹனுமார், கண்டபேரண்ட பக்ஷி, புஷ்ப பல்லக்கு, ரிஷயமுக பர்வதம், சிம்ம வாகனம், சூர்ய பிரபை, சேஷவாகனம், கருட சேவை, ஹனுமந்த வாகனம், யானை வாகனம், கோரதம், வெண்ணெய்த்தாழி, திருத்தேர் முதலான நிகழ்வுகள் நடைபெறுவது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கதாகும்.
தல சிறப்பு
ராஜகோபாலர் இக்கோயிலில் இடையர் கோலத்தில் பாலனாக காட்சி தருகிறார். ஒரு வேஷ்டி அணிந்து அதையே தலைப்பாகையாக சுருட்டி, வலது கையில் வெண்ணெய் மற்றும் சாட்டை வைத்து காட்சி தருகிறார். இடுப்பில் சலங்கை, சாவிக் கொத்து, கையில் வளையல், காலில் தண்டை, கொலுசு ஆகிய குழந்தை அணிகலன்கள் அணிந்திருக்கிறார். உடன் ஒரு பசுவும் இரண்டு கன்றுகளம் உள்ளன. தாயார் சன்னதி அருகே பெருமாள் சன்னதி எதிரே பெபண் வடிவ கருடாழ்வார் இருக்கிறார். மதுரை கள்ளழகர் கோயில் போல, தினமும் மாலையில் மட்டும் தோசை நைவெத்தியம் படைக்கப்படுகிறது.
பிரார்த்தனை
ராஜகோபால சுவாமியிடம் வேண்டிக் கொள்ள குடும்பத்தில் ஐஸ்வர்யம் உண்டாகும். திருமண, புத்திர தோஷம் நீங்கும் என்பது நம்பிக்கை. கால்நடைகள் நோயின்றி வாழ இவரிடம் வேண்டிக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.

சுவாமி தாயாருக்கு திருமஞ்சனம் செய்தும் பசுக்களை தானம் செய்தும் நேர்த்திக்கடன் செலுத்தலாம்.

கம்சன் வசுதேவர், தேவகி இருவரையும் சிறையில் அடைத்தான். வசுதேவரும் தேவகியும் வருந்தியபோது பெருமாள் அவர்கள் முன் தோன்றி தானே அவர்களுக்கு எட்டாவது மகனாகப் பிறக்கப் போவதாகக் கூறினார். தனது லீலைகளைக் காண விரும்பி கோபிலர், கோபிரளயர் என்ற முனிவர்களுக்கு முதலில் வாசுதேவராகக் காட்சியளித்தார். 32ம் லீலையாக கோகுலத்தில் பசுக்கள் மேய்க்கும் இடையனாக காட்சியத்தார்.
இக்கோயிலில் மூலவர் வாசுதேவப் பெருமாள் என்றம், ஸ்ரீ தேவி பூமிதேவி முதலானோருடன் காட்சியளிக்கிறார். உற்சவர் ரா%கோபால சுவாமி ருக்மணி சத்யபாமாவுடன் காட்சி தருகிறார். தினமும் காலையில் கோவிலில் கோபூஜை செய்யப்படுகிறது.

Raghunathabhyudayam, a doctrine by Nayaks explains the donation of an armour studded with precious stones to the main deity by the king.
He erected the big tower in the temple so that he can view the Srirangam Ranganathaswamy temple from the top of Mannargudi.
The Nayaks were specially interested in music and it was promoted in both the temples.
Instruments like Mukhavina, Dande, Kombu, Chandravalaya, Bheri and Nadhaswaram were commonly used in the temple service.

Rajagopalaswamy temple is a Vaishnavite shrine located in the town of Mannargudi, Tamil Nadu, India.[1] The presiding deity is Rajagopalaswamy, a form of Lord Krishna. The temple is spread over an area of 23 acres (93,000 m2) and is one of the important Vaishnavite shrines in India. The temple is called Dakshina Dwarka (Southern Dwarka) along with Guruvayoor by Hindus.[2]
This ancient temple was massively expanded by Thanjavur Nayaks during the 16th century. The temple has three inscriptions from the period and also mention in the religious texts. A granite wall surrounds the temple, enclosing all its shrines and seven of its nine bodies of water. The temple has a 192 ft (59 m) rajagopuram, the temple's gateway tower. Haridra Nadhi, the temple tank associated with the temple is outside the temple complex and is considered one of the largest temple tanks in India.

On, 17th March 2017, Dhunmuki Varusha Panguni Swathi: Sri Rajagopalaswami Temple Panguni Brahmotsavam commences in grand manner at Mannargudi. In the early Morning.
Morning at 9.30 am Sri Perumal Yagasalai Mandapam Ezhundarulal. After that poojas are performed. at around 10.00 am Sri Garudan Dwaja Padam Ezhundarulal in Gopalasamudram Mada Veedhi . At around Morning at 11.00 am
Dwajarohanam was performed as per agama sastras. In the Evening at 6.00 p.m Sri Rajagopalan along with Ubayanachimars, Rukmani Sathyabama Sametha Yagasalai Mandapam Ezhundarulal.
Then at 7.30 pm Sri Perumal Purappadu followed by Veda & Prabandha goshti from Sri Udayavar Sannithi and goes to Panthaladi Yanai Vahana Mandapam. At around 12.00 am Sri Perumal Purappadu in Kodi Chapparam.
This Kodi Chaparam is proceeded from Panthaladi, Mela Raja Veedhi, Theradi. At Theradi Prabhanda gosthi thodakkam with Sadagopam to the gosthiyars. Again Kodi Chaparam is proceeded with Gopala Samudram Madaveethi at around 3.00 am Sri Perumal Sannathi Ezhundarulal. Later at Vanamamalai Mutt “Thiruvanthi Kappu” is performed followed by Sri Perumal along with Ubaya Natchimars “Palliayarai” Ezhundarulal.
