JODHPUR INDIA | THE BLUE CITY OF RAJASTHAN INDIA TRAVEL VIDEO

Join us for a journey through Jodhpur the Blue City of Rajasthan India as we roam the blue streets. Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that’s now a museum set on a rocky outcrop which we just had to check out. The fort overlooks the walled city, where many buildings are painted the city’s iconic shade of blue. We try to get into Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas’ wedding venue the amazing Umaid Bhavan hotel. We also head over to the Sardar Market (सरदार बाजार) nearby the Ghanta Ghar clock tower of Rajasthan where you can find great places to shop. Let’s go!

Driving on Jaipur-Jodhpur Highway NH 25 (Near Beawar) - Rajasthan, India

NH 25 is a National Highway in India that connects Barmer and Beawar in the state of Rajasthan. It is 330 km long highway and passes through Jodhpur.
It has recently been upgraded to four lanes by the National Highways Authority of India.

Beawar is a city in Ajmer district of Rajasthan. It was the financial capital of Merwara state of Rajputana.
As of 2011, the population of Beawar is 3,42,935. It is located 184 km (114 mi) southwest of the state capital Jaipur, amidst Aravali hills.
The city used to be a major center of trade, especially in raw cotton, and used to have cotton presses and mills.

This is Marwar region of Rajasthan, we started our Tour from Mehrangarh fort and what better than to have kachori in breakfast on streets of Jodhpur.

In this journey i enjoyed Rajasthani thali at Jodhpur’s most famous restaurant: Gypsy. I was lucky that i could enjoy Kheech as part of the Thali.

Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan and officially the second metropolitan city of the state. It was formerly the seat of a princely state of the same name. The capital of the kingdom was known as Marwar. Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar Desert.

The city is known as the Sun City for the bright and sunny weather it enjoys all the year round. The old city circles the fort and is bounded by a wall with several gates.[6] Jodhpur is also known as the Blue City because of the blue colours that decorate many of the houses in the old city area. However, the city has expanded greatly outside the wall over the past several decades.


Jaisalmer About this sound pronunciation, nicknamed The Golden city, is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, located 575 kilometres (357 mi) west of the state capital Jaipur. Once known as Jaisalmer state it is a World Heritage Site. The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, and is crowned by the ancient Jaisalmer Fort. This fort contains a royal palace and several ornate Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples of both the fort, and of the town below, are built of finely sculptured sandstone. The town lies in the heart of the Thar Desert (the Great Indian Desert) and has a total population, including the residents of the fort, of about 78,000. It is the administrative headquarters of Jaisalmer District.

JODHPUR Food Tour | Part - 1/2 I Rajasthan Food Tour

Delhi Food Walks went on a street food tour covering some of the lesser known street delicacies in Jodhpur. In Jodhpur, I was joined by Dr Navneet, Asst. Professor by profession and food enthusiast by passion. He took us on a full-on street food tour in the old town of Jodhpur.

Hey people!! So it was our first wedding anniversary and Nuthan and me wanted to explore the Thar Desert. We had just 5 days to go around Rajasthan, we decided to visit Jodhpur ( the blue city ), Jaisalmer ( the golden city) and Jaipur ( the pink city ). Instead of sleeping at hotels in the night, we chose to sleep in trains and travel over night in order to cover more places in a short span of time.

Join us as we visit Jodhpur in this city travel guide covering the best things to do in the 'Blue City' of Rajasthan, India. Jodhpur City Guide | India Travel Series in Rajasthan Video Transcript:

Our first stop in Jodhpur was Mehrangarh Fort, which is one of the biggest forts in India. The fort sits on a rocky hill overlooking the city and it pretty much dominates the skyline with its imposing walls. Admission to the fort itself is free, but if you’ve come all the way here, you’ll want to pay the admission to visit the palaces which now act as a museum.

Within the fort (मेहरानगढ़ का दुर्ग) you can also visit the ramparts, see the old cannons, and get some overhead views of the city which will quickly help you realize why Jodhpur (जोधपुर) is nicknamed the Blue City.

Then, after all that food and drink, it was finally time to get lost in the blue maze that is Jodhpur.

So right now we have ended up at the Sardar Market (सरदार बाजार) just around the clock tower (Ghanta Ghar). And I would say this is both a local market and a tourist market. You can get produce and like everyday things. Yeah, you see a lot of everyday like market stalls but you also see some more ones that are geared for tourists such as the ones where you can souvenirs, carpets and saris.

Jhankar in Jodhpur (जोधपुर). Oh, it was so good Actually it was one of the best meals we've had in India so far. Yeah. So we are heading back there for dinner. And it is all about Thali (थाली) tonight. We are going to get an original Thali (थाली) and a Rajasthani Thali (राजस्थानी खाना). Because we are in Rajasthan (राजस्थान ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ) and they have a special Thali so we can't wait to try that out. Now it is off to find a little tuk-tuk. Alright, lead the way. Lead the way.

And that’s it for Jodhpur! Our two-day visit was short and sweet, but it was enough to get a taste of what the city is all about.

So that is a wrap from Jodhpur (जोधपुर). So we had a really good time in the Blue City. Um, it was only two days but I felt like we did quite a bit. Did you enjoy it? Yeah, the fort (मेहरानगढ़ का दुर्ग) was magnificent and the blue city was all it was supposed to be. Yes, so now we're moving on to Jaipur. We're just waiting at the train station. So we're going to catch our train. It is about a 6 hour journey. So relatively not too long but uh yeah can't wait to update you when we get there. Ciao for now.

मेहरानगढ़ किले के पास में से एक सड़क नीचे आती है सीधी घंटाघर मार्केट के पास में घंटाघर बाजार बहुत ही पुराना बाजार है यहां पर आप सस्ती दरों का सामान खरीद सकते हैं और यहां पर जितने भी पर्यटक आते हैं जोधपुर घूमने के लिए वह पर्यटक नई सड़क और घंटाघर बाजार देखने के लिए भी आते हैं यहां नई सड़क पर कई सारे रेस्टोरेंट्स और होटल से बने हुए हैं घंटा घर बाजार के अंदर आप सस्ती दरों पर सामान खरीद सकते हैं

मेहरानगढ़ किले की ऊंचाई पर सबसे ऊपर और लास्ट में बना हुआ है माता चामुंडा का मंदिर चामुंडा माता का मंदिर यहां बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध और प्राचीन मंदिर है पूरे जोधपुर शहर और आसपास के इलाकों से लोग माता चामुंडा के मंदिर दर्शन करने के लिए आते हैं चामुंडा माता का मंदिर अगर आप जाना चाहते हैं तो आपको जालोरी गेट से रानी सर और पदम सर के रास्ते से होकर जाना चाहिए यहां से अगर आप जाएंगे तो आप फ्री के अंदर माता जी के दर्शन करके आ सकते हैं क्योंकि सिर्फ जो म्यूजियम बना हुआ है मेहरानगढ़ किले के अंदर वहीं पर जाने के लिए आपसे एंट्री फीस ₹100 ली जाएगी

एक विदेशी पर्यटक में मेहरानगढ़ के चामुंडा माता जी के मंदिर पर बातचीत करते हुए बताया कि भारतीय संस्कृति बहुत ही प्राचीन है लेकिन अमेरिका की बहुत ही नई संस्कृति है उसे भारत की संस्कृति पसंद आई और उसने कहा कि भारत के सामने अमेरिका तो अभी बच्चा है जवान हो रहा है और डेवलपिंग कंट्री है और भारत एक बहुत ही प्राचीन और विकसित संस्कृतिक देश है ।

A solo trip to Udaipur - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (Rajasthan, India)

This was a very random plan wherein within 5 days I planned and executed this trip. Due to peak season it went a little costly than it should have been and moreover because I did my tickets just a day prior to the journey.

Itinerary:

22/12/17 - Bus from Pune to Udaipur
23/12/17 - Reached Udaipur. Night travel to Jaisalmer.
24/12/17 - Reached Jaisalmer. Night stay.
25/12/17 - Sunrise at Sam Sand Dunes. Afternoon travel to Jodhpur. Night stay.
26/12/17 - Evening travel to Udaipur. Night stay.
27/12/17 - Afternoon bus from Udaipur to Pune.

An amazing short trip with great experiences!

Journey to Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that’s now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborate royal palanquins (sedan chairs). Set on on a rocky outcrop, the fort overlooks the walled city, where many buildings are painted the city’s iconic shade of blue.
