Rajmachi Point is located about 6.5 km from Lonavla. This point commands a view of Shivaji's famous fort, Rajmachi (Royal terrakouioce) and the surrounding valley. Regular State Transport buses ply between Rajmachi Point and Lonavla from the State Transport Bus Stand. The famous Vaghjai Dari is also located here.
The Rajmachi Park is located on the way to Mumbai from Lonavala. This is a beautiful garden situated before the beginning of the ghat at Khandala.

Lonavla and the adjacent Khandala are twin hill stations 622 metres (2,041 ft) above sea level, in the Sahyadri ranges that demarcate the Deccan Plateau and the Konkan coast. The hill stations sprawl over an approximate area of 38 square kilometres (15 sq mi). Tourism peaks during the monsoon season. The name Lonavla is derived from the Sanskrit lonavli, which refers to the many caves like Karla Caves, Bhaja Caves and Bedsa that are close to Lonavla. A trip to Lonavla and Khandala can be combined with sight-seeing visits of Karla, Bhaja and Bedsa caves and also the two fortresses, Lohagad and Visapur. Another place of interest is the Tungi fort, one of the forts captured by Malik Ahmad near the village of Karjat and was known for its natural strength.[7] The Andharban trek begins from village Pimpri, passses through dense forests, valleys and waterfalls and ends in Bhira.

Rajmachi fort is one of the most visited trek in Mumbai and Pune.
As this fort is easily accessible from both of these cities, many people come here to explore Rajmachi trek.
Location: Udhewadi (Rajmachi) Village, Near Khandala Ghat, On the Mumbai-Pune highway, Maharashtra.
Nearest Railway Station: Lonavala is the nearest rail head located at a distance of 18 kms from Rajmachi.
One can hire taxi or jeep like sumo from the station up to the base village.
A huge number of hikers visit rajmachi every year. Anyone can enjoy trekking at Rajmachi.

Rajmachi is a small village in the Sahyadri mountain range.
Rajmachi is located on the two peaks namely Shrivardhan and Manaranjan.
Shriwardhan is a taller peak to the right side of the hill. While Manaranjan is the shorter peak on another side.
This fort performed an essential role during the 1st Anglo-Maratha War.
The height of Shriwardhan peak is 910 metres. There is a fort situated on this peak known as Bale Killa.
Rajmachi fort had great strategic importance. It played a vital role in order to keep an eye on Borghat region.
Borghat region is the part between Khandala & Khopoli. Borghat was an important trade route in ancient times.
So the fort was constructed to maintain control over Borghat & Konkan area around it.
Manaranjan is about 2700 feet high consisting of 3 doors.
There are few water tanks present here. The construction of this fort is amazing.
One can get spectacular views of the Shirota dam backwaters & Sahyadri mountain range from top of the fort.
There are ancient Buddhist and Hindu caves at the bottom of the fort.
This Fort has been now declared as a protected monument site.
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has started to carry out their work in order to make Rajmachi fort trek as popular tourist spot near Pune & Mumbai.
There are many secret underground tunnels on the fort. Some rock-cut caves are situated at the base of Manaranjan peak.
Rajmachi fort trek offers camping opportunities along with trekking.
Hikers can stay in caves or in Kalbhairavnath Temple at the base of the fort.
About 35-40 persons can stay in the caves at the top of the fort.

1.Visapur Fort
Visapur Fort has a huge plateau surrounding it. Located to the east of Lohagad Fort, it is famous for its protective walls and intricate designs. In the forest at the centre of the fort lies the guards' residences in ruins.
2.Kune Falls
The Kune Falls is a waterfall at Lonavla in Pune district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the 14th highest waterfall in India.
3.Bhor Ghat
Bhor Ghat or Bor Ghat, Bhore Ghaut, is a mountain passage located between Palasdari and Khandala for railway and between Khopoli and Khandala on the road route in Maharashtra, India, situated on the crest of the Western Ghats.
4.Lion’s point
Sunset & night-sky viewing is popular at this lookout point with panoramic mountain views.Lion's Point is a cliff that is located midway between Bhushi Dam and Amby Valley. 5.Manaranjan Fort
Manaranjan fort is one of the two hill forts that constitute the Rajmachi fortification, the other being Shrivardhan fort. It is located in Rajmachi village which 8.5 km from Lonavala in the Sahyadris mountain range.
6.Duke's Nose
A hiking trail leads to this panoramic peak, also popular for climbing & rappelling.
7.Rajmachi Park
Rajmachi Park is located on the way to Mumbai from Lonavala. Distance between Lonavala and Khandala is 5 km. Sitting at the start of the Khandala Ghat, the park area also comprises a restaurant and a temple. There are two towers of Rajmachi Fort on the eastern side of the park.
8.Bhushi Lake
Bhushi Lake is located at a distance of 5 km from Lonavala. A popular picnic spot, the lake can be reached by availing buses running on the INS Shivaji Road. Beside the dam lies a beautiful waterfall that is also a popular picnic spot.
9.Lohagad Darshan
Lohagad Darshan is a garden in Bhangarwadi. In this small park, there is also a statue of Veer Savarkar. Having bounty of toys, it is frequented by tourists visiting the destination with their kids. The garden is home to tall grassy lands and lush vegetation.
10.Monkey Hill
Monkey Hill is the spot, where trains arriving from Khandala halt for brake testing. The site can be reached from both Khopoli Town as well as Reversing Station.Located above Khopoli Town.

You can also see other important places like Juhu beach Chaupathi beach, Elephanta caves, Khandala, Lonavala, Matheran etc. in this video.
Haaji Ali Dargah is actually located inside the sea about half km from the sea shore. As you can see in the video the Dargha looks very prominent as there is no other building near to it. It is surrounded by mud and water at all sides except just one road connecting it to the main land. The connecting road is submerged in water during high tide. Thus the Dargah is connected and disconnected to the main land twice on every day. You can go to the dargah only when there is low tide.
Victoria Terminus or VT is one of the most important heritage buildings which is used as the railway station of Mumbai. There are many railway stations in Mumbai however VT is the last station. The station is also called as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST). This building is very old and reflects beautiful British architecture. Town hall is another important heritage building (on Saheed Bhagat Singh Road) which is also located near to the Victoria Terminus.
The marine drive is the most popular beach area of Mumbai. This place is very spectacular and enjoyable. The lights on both the sides of the curved shape of the beach look like a diamond necklace in the evening. The most important point in Marine drive is the Gateway of India. Hanging garden is located at the top of Malabar hill. This is a very old park laid out during 1881. This is also called as PMG (Pherozeshah Mehta Garden). This is a public park and there is no entry fee to visit this park. Kamala Nehru park is also located on Malabar hill just opposite to the Hanging garden. It is also called the shoe park. There is a huge shoe shaped structure inside the park. This huge structure of shoe is also called as the old woman’s shoe.
Lonavala and Khandala are two beautiful hill stations about 100 kms from Mumbai and 70 kms from Pune. From mumbai we went Lonavala by a local train and from lonavala we took auto-rickshaw to visit the local points. We first visited shivaji park in lonavala, then went to Bhusi lake, then went to lions point and shooting point. The view of hills at Lions point are spectacular. We also saw some camels at the lion point. From lonavala we went to khandala which is about 5 kms. First visited film shooting point in khandala, then Khandala Lake, then visited Rajamachi Park and monkey point.
Matheran is an Eco-sensitive hill station in Maharastra about 100 kms from Mumbai and 120 kms from Pune. It is situated about 800 meters above sea level on Sahayadri hills. From Mumbai we went Neral by a local train. From Neral there is a special narrow gauge toy train to Matheran which usually does not operate. From Neral we went upto the hill by a shared taxi (Busses and bigger vehicles don’t go to the hill).
There are more than a dozen interesting points on top of the hill. (A longer list shows more than 30 points to see). We first went to the panorama point, then Nigam's point, heart point, Monkey point, Sunset point, Paymaster Park and finally echo point. We were pretty tired by walking and walking. However the day was interesting and adventurous.
