Thriving bar and restaurant for lease in Martinborough
Built in 1882 as a public house for local farmers and passing travellers, the Martinborough Hotel has progressively reinvented itself to reflect the changing demographics and commercial developments in the region.
135 years on the district is a draw card attracting thousands of annual visitors coming to sample award-winning local wines, attend live music festivals and markets. The Martinborough Hotel is naturally the preferred choice in accommodation. Only an hour from Wellington it is also a popular venue for weddings, corporate functions and weekend get-aways.
A rare opportunity now presents to acquire the Bar & Restaurant facilities within this establishment.
Operating on a 7 day a week licence, both bar and restaurant benefit from high patronage spring-boarding from consistent occupancy rates from the hotel with further opportunity to exploit the ever-increasing number of casual visitors and through-traffic.
Renowned for paddock-to-plate steaks, casual grazing platters and more formal a la carte menu, the restaurant offers both indoor and al-fresco dining options with in-house catering capability.
A turn-key operation offering immediate profits and explosive future potential. Take advantage of this unique opportunity and call or email us today to receive an information pack on the business. All offers considered 4pm Tuesday 31st October 2017 (unless sold prior). Call Brady Bingham 0800 427 239 Today.

AlbanyRegionDVD4 MtBarker
Mt Barker is situated in the centre of the original Plantagenet district, which stretched from the Southern coast between Two Peoples Bay and Cape Edward, to the west of Wilsons Inlet and, northwards as far as Lake Katherine near Tenterden.
How the Plantagenet name was given has been a mesmerising mystery. Perhaps this presentation should have been called The Plantagenet Region.
Some say the wildflower species of broom plant said to be growing in the area, others say Captain Stirling was continuing Captain Vancouvers decision to honour the Royal Family, which claimed to be of Plantagenet blood.
Mt Barker was popularly known for Apples between 1910 and 1960, today it is largely known for its wines.
The Old Bush Inn was established in 1860 by early settler William C Cooper.
Main couriers changed horses here and it was a welcome resting place between Albany and Kojonup. Business was affected by the opening of the railway in 1899, and the inn was delicenced after the Plantagenet Hotel was opened in 1914.
Notable buildings in the town centre include All Saints Church built in 1900, and the
Plantagenet Hotel which is a prominent main street landmark.
The old Police Station Museum, built in 1867-68 by a convict road party it originally consisted of living quarters, coach house and stables for the police horses.
Interestingly they forgot to build a lockup which meant that prisoners had to be tied to the kitchen table or to a log outside.
Saint Werburgh's Church. In 1872 Egerton-Warburton's eldest brother, who was the Squire of Arley Hall and the rector of Northwich, sent £500 for the building of the church on the property. The result was a church of great vernacular originality.
The ironwork was made on the family forge, the walls were made of a mixture of gravel, straw and clay, the font had been used for grinding flour and the roof was designed by Egerton-Warburton who also did all the plastering.
The church is located on St Werburgh's Road, on a hill above the Hay River.
Below the church are the remains of the Hay River Bridge (now no more than a few old pit sawn timbers) which was built in 1858 and used continuously until 1968.
The Albany Region has over 50 wineries and these produce some of the finest wines in Australia. Many of the red and white varieties have achieved international recognition.

How to correctly (and safely) open a bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine
Having spent four years working for Domaine Chandon Australia - the most iconic producer of premium methode traditionelle sparkling wine in the country - I have opened more than a few bottles. Here is the best and safest way to open a bottle of bubble to not only avoid any eye injuries, but also limit the amount of fizz to escape to keep that wine nice and fresh!
1. Remove the foil
2. Unscrew the wire, but do not take it off the cork
3. Hold the cork and use the wire hood to help improve your grip
4. Using your other hand, hold the bottle by the base
5. Twist the bottle from the base, not the cork
6. Allow the pressure inside the bottle to push the cork out, don't pull the cork
7. DO NOT ENCOURAGE A POP OF THE CORK
The bottle used is a magnum of Il Mosnel Brut NV from Franciacorta in Italy.

Welcome to Prize Wines. A sporadic video blog about the wines I'm drinking now.
Please bear with me as I approach this from a casual wine drinker background. I'm not a wine grower. I'm a social wine drinker. So my description or off the cuff comments may not cover all the nuances of the wine. If you'd like to add more to my description of a particular wine, especially if you're the wine grower, distributor or retailer please feel free to comment below.
To keep updated on when further videos are uploaded, please subscribe by clicking the subscribe button at the top of the page.
This review may not reflect the reviews of other wine drinkers and wine organisations I may be associated with and are mine alone.
If you are within Australia and have what is considered to be a prize wine and would like me to review it, please send a bottle to PO Box Q1232 QVB Post Office Sydney NSW Australia 1230. Please pack it well! All wineries and sellers who have their wines featured are welcome to share my video on their website.
I am now a member of the Wine Society - a not for profit co-operative representing Australia, based in Sydney. If you have found my video useful and sign up as a new member of The Wine Society, please quote my member number as your reference - 171607. Find out more about the Wine Society at:
I also now have a Face Book page on wine. Early days yet but if you could 'like' it, that would be very much appreciated.
