Ram Falls Provincial Park Camping | Journey Alberta
Today I travel out to Ram Falls Provincial Park to stay at the campground there for a night! We have an awesome camp site and the campground was great. Our site was right near the bathroom and the sites were nicely spaced out from each other. While in the campground we noticed it is much quieter than some other places I've been to. The sites were nicely spaced apart and offered a decent amount of privacy. We ventured down to Ram Falls itself to take in the massive 30 meter waterfall. It's definitely one of those places you have to experience in person!

MVI 0816 Ram Falls on the South Ram River along the Forestry Trunk Road in Alberta
Alberta's Ram River Falls
There's dozens of fabalous waterfalls in North America. Few will argue that Alberta's Ram Falls doesn't belong on that list. Roughly three hours from Calgary and Edmonton, Ram Falls is remote, like most good waterfalls, but it pays big dividens to visitors as the South Ram River plunges off a cliff yielding extrodinary views. There's a trail to a popular overlook, meanwhile the adventerous can scramble down loose cliffs for a better view, as we did here.

Day 2 - Cadomin - Nordegg
Motorcycle trip with KLR Brad and Harley, errr I mean Buell Keith.
Our second day we headed down to Hinton to purchase smokies, rum and some fasteners at Canadian Tire to fix a broken bolt on my rack. From there we took the Forestry Trunk rd. to Cadomin and continued South on Grave Flats Rd. This road takes you through a big mining area and then over the Cardinal Divide in Whitehorse Wildland Provincial Park and along the braided Cardinal River. This along with the fast gravel of the Forestry Trunk rd. down to Nordegg was the highlight of the trip. That night we camped on the shore of Abraham Lake near Cline River. The high level of the water made it difficult to find a camping spot.
Our final day we went back up the Forestry Trunk rd. and cut East on a road between the Brazeau River and Nordegg River over to Brazeau dam and took pavement home passing through Genesee.

Ram Falls
Here is a short video of my day trip out to Ram Falls. This is a beautiful place to visit and the drive out is just as amazing. I discovered that the blade guards for the phantom 2 are a bad idea as it makes it less stable as you will see my near miss at the end. Luckily I didn't lose it.

Ram Falls, Alberta - From Lookout
Ram Falls is a large waterfall about 40 minutes south of Nordegg, Alberta, Canada, just off the Forestry Trunk Road. Video shot from overlook, which requires going down several flights of stairs to reach. Great location accessible by car, complete with camping and picnic sites, and only a short walk in to the top of the valley (and staircase). It is possible, but not advisable (or entirely legal) to get right down to the falls, the valley is steep and lined with very unstable shale.
