Srirangam Temple - Sri Ranganatha Swamy - Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu - Documentary
Srirangam is the foremost of the eight self-manifested shrines (Swayam Vyakta Kshetras) of Lord Vishnu . It is also considered the first, foremost and the most important of the 108 main Vishnu temples (Divyadesams). This temple is also known as Thiruvaranga Tirupati, Periyakoil, Bhoologa Vaikundam, Bhogamandabam. In the Vaishnava parlance the term “KOIL” signifies this temple only. The temple is enormous in size. The temple complex is 156 acres in extent. It has seven prakaras or enclosures. These enclosures are formed by thick and huge rampart walls which run round the sanctum. There are 21 magnificent towers in all prakaras providing a unique sight to any visitor. this temple lies on an islet formed by the twin rivers Cauvery and Coleroon.
The temple of Sri Ranganathaswami at Srirangam boasts an historic past of great kingdom and a civilization thousands of years old. The reign of the Pallavas was marked by the creation of a solid religious foundation, for example the encouragement given by the dynasty appears to have contributed to the growth of Aryan institutions in Southern India more particularly in the Carnatic. Cholas reigned for about three hundred years over the Coromandel Coast and the greater part of Eastern Deccan, where they helped an advanced Hindu Culture to flourish.
The cholas were defeated in the thirteen century by the Pandyas of Madurai and Hoysalas of Mysore. Hoysalas had taken particular interest in the building of the Temple of Srirangam, leaving behind both the inscriptions and buildings. The Hoysalas were then driven away by the Pandyas in the early part of fourteenth Century. Later, the Mohammedans began frequently raiding the Deccan facing strong resistance from the Hindu Kingdom, which was established in Vijayanagar in 1336. The Kingdom maintained its independence until 1565.
During this time, the Europeans had appeared in the south of India. In the sixteenth century a number of foreign travelers and traders passed through but taking least interest in the hinterland except for the routes it provided for their trade with the Kingdom of Vijayanagar. In 1600, the English East India Company was formed, and 1664 the French company.
In 1680, King Aurangazeb (1658-1707), launched a campaign in western Deccan. After long sieges and a great loss of life, the fortress cities of Bijapur and Golconda fell to him, and the campaign lasted until his death.
In Europe, however, the war of Austrian succession set the English and the French at each other’s throats. Duplex captured Madras (1746), which was given back to the English two years later. The French were forced to surrender in 1752 and Duplex was disavowed and recalled in 1754.
In 1760, a further French attempt, led by Lally-Tollendal, was unsuccessful and the French trading post was dismantled in 1763. From then on, the English Company gradually annexed the whole of the territory of India. Though the French came near to victory, later on they were defeated in 1798 by the English led by Wellessley and who invaded Mysore and in 1799 captured the fortress of Srirangapatnam. There after all of the Southern India came under the supremacy of England. The Carnatic was included in the direct administration of the Madras Presidency where it remained.

Ranganayaka Swamy Temple- Habeeb Nagar, Moosapet, Hyderabad, 500072-Kukatpally-Hyderabad Timez
Yes, I say this as a secret temple. Because, from past there years, I am going to office daily in this route. I use to see this temple daily.
Even one year back also I didn't see much people in this temple.
Now a days, once in a while I see devotees coming to this temple.
Its road side and there are Big rocks surrounded by this temple.
From out side we feel that the temple is very small.
But one you enter into the temple, the entire picture is totally different.
The are two peepal trees . I saw one another temple back side of this which is facing in opposite direction to the main entrance.
On that backside, temple, there are two big snake sculptures.
The rocks around the temple are very beautiful and give a seen of secrecy. Means, we feel that they are holding lots of secrets with them.
Some rocks shapes are like big heads , gossiping with one other or sharing secrets.
Yes, I can say they are like mystery rocks.
There is a street dog, which followed us but didn't entered into the temple.
You can see that dog in the video.
Around the temple, it followed us as if it was escorting us or protecting us.
As it it was the dog duty to escort and protect the visitors of that temple.
Totally its a different feel visiting this temple today.

Theertha Yatra is a journey across the sacred stretches of India. A travel guide to pilgrimage centers dotting all over the land stretching from Amarnath in the North to Madurai in the South, Puri in the East to Dwaraka in the West one program showcasing it all...
Ekamukha Dattatreya Swamy Temple,Ettipothala,Maacharla Near Naagarjuna Sagar
ETHIPOTHALA is known for Water Falls and is known as a picnic spot to many people. But it is a place where there is a temple of Lord Dattatreya with Ekamukhi . This place is approximately 15 Kms away from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam towards Vinukona and Macherla in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. The Lord Datta here is the main worship god for Lambadi Tribal people around this place. They will beleive the Lord and offer prayers and sevas to him without knowing any manthras.
Ethipothala word became from YATHI (SAGE) TAPOSTHAL(PLACE WHERE YATHIS PERFORMED PENANCE). So it is YATHI-THAPOSTHAL. There as many caves near the water falls which prove the fact that many rishis and yathis did penance here. The same thing is displayed on boards at this place. There is a network of caves that is supposed to have a path leading upto Srisailam. There are some Buddhist sites that are worth visiting.
Nagarjuna sagar Dam is 150 Kms away from the city HYDERABAD. After crossing the dam and travelling 6-7 kms on MACHERLA ROAD there is a board displaying the route to Ethipothala Falls on the left hand side of the road.
Situated on the Chandravanka River, the Ethipothala Falls is a 70 feet high cascade of fresh water . The waterfall is a combination of three streams namely, the Chandra Vanka stream on Macherla, Surya bhaga stream on Nagarjuna hill and Krishna river of Nagarjuna sagar.Hence,it is like a Triveni sangama. The sight of the waterfalls as it cascades down a number of steps is a wonderful sight immediately after the monsoons. Just adjacent to the falls is located DattaGuru’s Temple.
This too is a siddhakshetram. The Dattamandiram is atop a small hillock. The Datta is in His Unmatta state(Unmatta state is a blissfully intoxicated state–the gross parallel which is the state where someone consumes canibis or ganja!)Below the hillock is the Madhumathy Devi Alayam. The Uttaranga mantras for Anushtup are Madhumati Mahavidya and Sri Datta Sahasrakshari
It is very rareto find such a Mandira wherein both Lord Dattatreya and Goddess Madhumathy devi are together.Yogalaxmi devi is there in the form of Madhumathi devi here. The rule here is that first one must have a Darshan of the Goddess and then have Datta-darshana. In this kshetra, Dattaguru is fulfilling the desires in the form of Swapna(dreams), Sparsha(touch), Drishya(vision) and vachasa vidhana. This kshetra is an ANANDA NILAYA for Poorna yoga and Paripoorna yoga. The form of Dattatreya in this kshetra is same as in Dhyana sloka of Dattatreya.
We can see the temple dedicated to Lord Ranganatha Swamy in the same place.
