रानी जी की बावड़ी बूंदी || Raniji ki Baori Queen's stepwell ||
Raniji ki Baori, also Queen's stepwell is a noted stepwell situated in Bundi town in Rajasthan state in India. It was built in 1699 by Rani Nathavati Ji who was the younger queen of the ruling Rao Raja Anirudh Singh of Bundi. It is a 46 m deep stepped well with some superb carvings on its pillars and a high arched gate. It is a multistoreyed structure with places of worship on each floor. The step well has a narrow entrance marked by four pillars. Stone elephant statues that face each other stand in the corners. Ogee brackets decorate all the archways of 46 m deep Raniji ki Baori, which is reputedly the largest Baori of Bundi. Baoris were significant social constructions in the medieval Bundi since they acted as assembly areas for the townsfolk. Raniji ki Baori has superb carvings on its pillars and a high arched gate.

Raniji Ki Baori (or Queen's Step well) in Bundi. This well known Bundi stepwell is thought to have been constructed in 1699 A.D. by Rani Nathawat Ji who was one of the wives of the ruler of Bundi, Rao Raja Anirudh Singh. This is Bundi's most well known stepwell with plenty of features such as an arched gateway, nice terraces, pillars, sculptures as well as naturally enough, steps to look at.

SUKH MAHAL - Mahal is an Urdu means a palace and indeed Sukh Mahal is palace like in a pristine setting on a lake just on the outskirts of Bundi. One of its claims to fame was that the British writer - Rudyard Kipling stayed there for two days.
We also visited: RANI JI KI BAORI an ancient well system.

Rani ji ki baori is a beautifull STEPWELL in Bundi district of Rajasthan, it was built by Queen of Bundi state in 1757 AD for the common people, as they were facing water crisis. Step wells were very popular in Rajasthan as there was scarcity of water & people only depended on rain water, so the step wells usually collected rain water & also recharged the ground water, generally they are connected with a well. They were not only used for water but were also used for social gatherings & functions

We visited Bundi on Independence day long weekend this monsoon. A small town around 40 k.ms from Kota, Rajasthan, Bundi has a lot to offer. In this 4D/3N backpacking trip we visited all the main attractions in Bundi. In previous Bundi vlog we have covered how to reach Bundi, our budget stay in town, and the attractions we visited mainly Mordi ki Chhattri, Nawal Sagar Lake, Garh Palace and Chitrashala.
In present vlog we have covered the places which were little far from our stay, on day 2 post breakfast we started with visiting Sukh mahal, Kipling palace, Shikar Burj, Raniji ki Baori, Naval Sagar lake , 84 pillared cenotaph, and Dabhai kund.

Chaurasi Khambon ki Chhatri or 84-Pillared Cenotaph is a chhatri located in Bundi town, Rajasthan, India. It was constructed in 1683 by the Maharaja of Bundi, Rao Raja Anirudh, as a memorial to his foster brother, Deva.It is also called Music Maharani's Chat
चैरासी खम्भों की छतरी राजस्थान में बूंदी के मुख्य आकर्षणों में से एक है। जैसा कि नाम से ही पता चलता है कि इस इमारत में 84 खंभे हैं जो कि पूरे स्मारक को सहारा देते हैं। यह विशाल स्मारक बूंदी के दक्षिण में स्थित है। मशहूर राजपूत राव अनिरुद्ध सिंह ने इस मंडप को 17वीं सदी में बनवाया था।
राव अनिरुद्ध सिंह ने बूंदी में चैरासी खम्भों की छतरी का निर्माण अपनी दूध पिलाने वाली नर्स देवा को श्रद्धांजली देने के लिए किया था। प्राचीन काल में राजकुमार और राजकुमारियों के लिए विशेष देखभाल हेतु दूध पिलाने वाली नर्स रखी जाती थी। नर्स के प्यार और दुलार से बच्चे उनसे बहुत जुड़ जाते थे। कुछ तो उन नर्सों को अपनी मां की तरह चाहते थे। देवा राव अनिरुद्ध सिंह के लिए वैसी ही नर्स थी।
बूंदी में चैरासी खम्भों की छतरी एक ऐसा दो मंजिला स्मारक है जिसे देखने हर साल बड़ी संख्या में सैलानी आते हैं। 84 मजबूत खंभे पूरे स्मारक को सहारा देते हैं। पूरे स्मारक की आंतरिक साज सज्जा शानदार और जटिल पैटर्न और शैली की है। यह पूरा भवन दरअसल देवा का स्मारक है। छतरी के अंदर परिसर में एक शिवलिंग भी है।
बूंदी के चैरासी खम्भों की छतरी ने समय के बहुत से प्रकोप झेले हैं। इस स्मारक का एक हिस्सा नष्ट भी हो चुका है।

Sukh Mahal, built during the reign of Umed Singh is positioned by the lake Jait Sagar. The main attraction of Sukh Mahal is a white marble Chhatri or an umbrella. There is an amazing Umbrella at the terrace of the second storey of the mahal. This Chhatri is the prime attraction of Sukh Mahal.
सुख निवास पैलेस बुंदी के जय मंदिर के सामने स्थित है और कुछ दिलचस्प सुविधाओं से सजाया गया है। सुख निवास पैलेस के द्वार सैंडलवुड की लकड़ी से बने हैं और आसपास के इलाकों में समृद्ध खुशबू फैलाते हैं। पानी के उचित तरीके से एक जगह से दूसरी जगह पहुंचने के लिए उचित सुविधाएं बनायीं गयी थी । पिछली बार इन जल चैनलों को ठंडे पानी के प्रवाह के लिए और गर्मी के मौसम में महल को ठंडा रखने के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाता था। जहां तक वास्तुकला का संबंध है, पूरे महल को सभी दीवारों पर विशिष्ट बुंडी शैली वाले भित्ति चित्रों से सजाया गया है। इन भित्ति चित्रों की विशिष्टता यह है कि वे अमीर लाल रंग में हैं, गहरे नीले और हरे रंग का रंग।
