Kennan In Batanes: Day 3 -- Trek To Rapang Cliff, Itbayat Island
The trek started at 3AM so we could view the sunset on a plateau atop Rapang Cliff. It was awesome.
As I've previously said, I am not very good at this vlogging/editing things because 1. this is my first time doing it; 2. I had to learn this editor on the fly. So, pleaaaase, bear with the noobyness. I will learn from this and get better in future vlogs.... assuming I make more since this isn't really my thing.

ITBAYAT ISLAND, BATANES - The northernmost inhabited island of the Philippines
Itbayat is the northernmost municipality of the Philippines, with a population of only 2,867+ people. From the southern tip of Taiwan, it's just more or less 200 kilometers away. They can even tune in to Taiwanese FM/AM radio stations in some areas.
You can get here via a 3-hour ferryboat ride from Basco (Batan Island). Take a tablet of Bonamine (Meclizine HCl) prior to the boat trip, as the waves reach as high as 15 feet during windy conditions.
According to locals, only about 5% of the total tourists in Batanes visit the island due to its location. Rehabilitation of the airport is still ongoing, and might open again this August. Plane ride from Basco to Itbayat only takes 10-15 minutes and costs around P2,000 - P2,500 one way.
The island is one of the world's largest uplifted coral reef and has the most beautiful natural scenery in this country. Tours going to Rafang Cliff and Torongan - Nahili Votox involves 2-3 hour treks, but you'll never get tired of all the scenic views along the trail.
So if you're up for a totally different island experience.. immerse in the culture, traditions, and the simple way of life of the Itbayat (Ivatan) community.
Disconnected, isolated, from the rest of the world. Like a paradise.

Kennan in Batanes Day 2: Itbayat Island
We traversed the rough, wavy seas between Batan and Itbayat island on our second day of vacation. Itbayat island is much closer to Taiwan than mainland Luzon, and it feels like the place is a little bit more isolated. But what it lacks in modern tech, Itbayat makes up for in gorgeous cliffs, amazing views of the sunset and tons of misadventures for the traveling punks in all of us.
Also, as I've said in my first video, I am a noob at this vlogging thing, and it shows as my finger occasionally gets caught on camera. I am sorry about that haha i simply did this for the lulz

A journey to Itbayat Batanes
Since our last visit to Batanes 15 months ago, I always hear the place “Itbayat”. It is the furthest inhabited island north of the Philippines! Yup, not Aparri nor Babuyan Island.
From the main island of Batan (Basco), it’s a 2hr boat ride. It may sound 2hrs short, but it has been the longest and roughest 2hr boat ride of my life so far! I only manage to capture the start were it started to get wild, been puking allover and had to set aside the gopro!
To our former Guides who became our family in Batanes, Kuya Lito of Basco 09182167440, Kuya Jun of Sabtang 09098770155. Sa bagong friend na si kuya Jover of Vatan Inn 09985519656 at kuya Jojo of Itbayat 09206603801... thank you! Guys if you want to experience Batanes the Local style contact them, sadly (for me) Batanes now are becoming a tour operated destination far from what we experience 15 months ago. Dont Haggle with the guide's rate, they have standard fees. You might see cheap packages but (i think) portion of the fees goes to tour operators.
Original Itinerary was an overnight stay at Itbayat & Sabtang but due to weather condition on Day2 we decided to try our luck on the 3rd day and opted to do a Sabtang Day trip.

Passed by a Village, an old PAGASA weather station and the Itbayat airport runway. Karoboban viewdeck.
