Cook Islands Holiday Guide - Raro Reef Sub
Why is the Reef Sub experience so unique?
Like many boat tours you are welcomed aboard, seated and entertained with stories and music as you leave the harbour ... then your experience becomes unique. The waters clear and you are invited to go down to the observation deck. What you see will amaze you. Giant trevally, turtles, sharks, puffer fish (and in season) whales are just some of the marine life we see regularly. It's like diving, but you stay dry. The 99 year old shipwreck of the RMS Maitai will take your breath away. The coral gardens will enchant you and the staff will go out of their way to ensure your tour is fun and memorable.

Survivor Cook Islands, may have exposed these beautiful islands to you, so if you are researching this place a holiday destination these travel videos will give you a good insight as to what you can get up to.
If getting into the water is not quite your thing then you can still experience the underwater world onboard the Reef Sub, nicknamed the Yellow Submarine. The skipper gives you a commentary about the history of the island and marine life as Yellow Submarine takes you out to the ship wreck. He feeds the big pelagic fish surrounding the boat so you get a close view from the lower viewing deck. They come right up to the window and you almost feel like you are in the water with them.
If you have any questions please leave a comment and we'll get back to you with an answer as soon as we can.

The Cook Islands: Snorkeling Tikioki Beach area in Rarotonga
Discovering MURI LAGOON, RAROTONGA, Cook Islands in 4K
Join us as we take a Muri Lagoon cruise on a glass bottom boat from Rarotonga, Cook Islands with a stop at a small motu (Koromiri) for lunch.
The volcanic island of Rarotonga stands over 14,750 feet (4,500 meters) above the ocean floor. It is 32 km (20 miles) in circumference and has an area of 67.19 km2 (26 square miles). At a depth of 4,000 m (13,000 ft) the volcano is nearly 50 km (31 miles) in diameter. Te Manga, at 658 m (2,140 ft) above sea level, is the highest peak on the island.
The island is surrounded by a lagoon, which often extends more than a hundred metres to the reef, then slopes steeply to deep water. Along the southeast coast off Muri Beach are four small coral islets within a few hundred metres of the shore and within the fringing coral reef.
Rarotonga is the most populous island of the Cook Islands. Captain John Dibbs, master of the colonial brig Endeavour, is credited as the European discoverer on 25 July 1823, while transporting the missionary Rev. John Williams.
