Chittorgarh Fort (Destroyed by mughals)
This video is about, one of the largest fort of India. which called as chittorgarh fort of rajputana's, It is 112 km from Udaipur and 182 km from Ajmer .
It sprawls over a hill 180 m (590.6 ft) in height spread over an area of 280 ha (691.9 acres) .
The first attack was by Alauddin Khilji in 1303 A.D., who was enamoured by the beauty of Padmini of which he had only heard. Rani Padmini preferred death to abduction and dishonour and committed jauhar (an act of self immolation by leaping into a large fire) along with all the other ladies of the fort. All the men left the fort in saffron robes to fight the enemy unto death. Chittorgarh was captured in 1303 A.D. by Alauddin Khilji, Sultan of Delhi who led a huge army.
By the 16th century, Mewar had become the leading Rajput state. Rana Sanga of Mewar led the combined Rajput forces against the Mughal emperor Babur in 1527 A.D., but was defeated at the Battle of Khanua. Later in 1535 A.D., Bahadur Shah, the Sultan of Gujarat besieged the fort causing immense carnage. It is said that again just like in the case of Jauhar led by Padmini in 1303 A.D., all 32,000 men then living in the fort donned the saffron robes of martyrdom and rode out to face certain death in the war, and their women folk committed Jauhar led by Rani Karnawati. The ultimate sacrifice for freedom, Jauhar was again performed for the third time after the Mughal Emperor Akbar captured Chittorgarh in 1568 A.D.
Chittorgarh is also famous for its association with two very widely known historical figures of India. The first is, Meera Bai the most famous female Hindu spiritual poetess whose compositions are still popular throughout North India. Her poems follow the Bhakti tradition and she is considered to be most passionate worshipper of lord Krishna.
In 2013, at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Chittorgarh Fort, along with 5 other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan.

The Padmini Mahal is one of the most popular places to visit in Rajasthan. It has had a history mixed with bravery, glory and tragedy. This was the house of the Queen who is treated with utmost respect and honour amongst the Rajputana people till date. As per historical references, Chittor was one of the most strategic places on the Indian map because the trade routes from the present day Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia passed through this place in Rajasthan towards Delhi. Chittorgarh was one of the most well built forts in the region and was ruled by Raja Ratan Singh who was attacked by the Mughal ruler Alauddin Khilji who seemed like a follower of Genghis Khan because of his sadistic deeds and actions. He was very ruthless and conquered many provices of India by deceit and treachery. The women of the kingdoms which lost were not spared at all, the were treated inhumanely. Rani Padmavati, after her husband's demise at the hands of this barbaric king entered into a fire pit with the wives of 16,000 soldiers who had lost their lives in the war just to keep their honor intact. Its a very tragic story in the history of India. This place shot into the limelight recently due because of a bollywood film known as Padmavati starring Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapur and Deepika Padukone.

Beginning in the 7th century, the fort was controlled by the Mewar Kingdom. From the 9th to 13th centuries, the fort was ruled by Paramara dynasty. In 1303, the Turkic ruler of Delhi, Alauddin Khalji defeated Rana Ratan Singh's forces at the fort. In 1535 Bahadur Shah, the Sultan of Gujarat, defeated Bikramjeet Singh and took the fort. In 1567 Akbar defeated Maharana Udai Singh II's troops. The fort's defenders sallied forth to charge the attacking enemy but yet were not able to succeed. Following these defeats, the women are said to have committed jauhar or mass self-immolation. Chittorgarh Fort || Rani Padmani Mahal || Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Suiting Place || Rajasthan Tourism

Its about an hour's drive from Udaipur. There is a massive fort here which is situated at a great height and was one of the most powerful places of India, ruled by the Rajput king, Maharaja Ratan Singh. He ruled at at a time when the Mughals were fast invading India and conquering all of its major kingdoms and looting all its wealth, conquering women from enemy kingdoms as slaves of war. It was the beginning of a very dark period in the history of India. The Mughal rulers were known to be ruthless somewhat like Cyclone Fani and hardly spared any historical monuments, buildings of historic and emotional value once they invaded, they ordered forced religious conversions into Islam and heavily taxed the Hindu population. On of the worst and horrific Mughal rulers went by the name of Alauddin Khilji who waged many wars and won almost all of them. Someone informed him about a Queen who was as beautiful as an angel from heaven, his lust knew no bounds and he set out to find out who she was and was she really that beautiful? Her name was Rani Padmini. Alauddin wanted to capture her and was even willing to let go off his plans for conquering Chittorgarh in exchange for Rani Padmini. However in his mind he had a very sadistic plan full of deceit. He asked Maharaja Ratan Singh for a private meeting under the pretext of extending a hand of friendship but his main motive was to catch a glimpse of Rani Padmini. Days went by and he sent a friendly invite to Ratan Singh who accepted it and went to meet him without any armed soldiers, just like Alauddin had come to meet him previously which symbolized trust but sadly Alauddin killed him and waged a war on Chittorgarh. In the war, thousands of soldiers died. In ancient India, whenever the husbands of women died, the women used to self immolate themselves along with their husband's body and the same thing happened in Chittorgarh. As many as 16000 women along with Rani Padmini entered a fire pit and thus self immolated themselves. By doing this they escaped the claws of the Mughal emperors. The Chittorgarh fort's fire pit is known as the Jauhar kund and was to be used specifically for this purpose. In 2018 a movie was made about this particular event in history. The movie was titled Padmavati initially but later on renamed to Padmavat, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali it starred Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as the lead actors along with Shahid Kapoor. It was one of the highest grossing films of 2018. I visited this place and felt a mix of emotions. I was amazed to see the beautiful fort and the architecture but I felt a wave of sadness at the same time when I listened to the story from the tour guide. I just felt so sorry for India, my country which had to face such extreme hardships in the past. I just pray that the world never sees a tyrant like Alauddin Khilji.

Chittorgarh fort ! itihaas ke gawaah chittorgarh ! padmavati, ratan sing, Alauddin khilji history
Chittor Fort or Chittorgarh is one of the largest forts in India. It is a World Heritage Site. The fort was the capital of Mewar and is today situated in the Chittorgarh town. It sprawls over a hill 180 m (590.6 ft) in height spread over an area of 280 ha (691.9 acres) above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River. The fort precinct has several historical palaces, gates, temples and two prominent commemoration towers. These monumental ruins have inspired the imagination of tourists and writers for centuries.
From 7th century, the fort was ruled by the Mewar Kingdom. It was attacked three times by Muslim rulers: In 1303 Allauddin Khilji defeated Rana Ratan Singh, in 1535 Bahadur Shah, the Sultan of Gujarat defeated Bikramjeet Singh and in 1567 Akbar defeated Maharana Udai Singh II who left the fort and founded Udaipur. Each time the men fought bravely rushing out of the fort walls charging the enemy but lost every time. Following these defeats, the women are said to have committed Jauhar or mass self-immolation. Thus, the fort represents the quintessence of tribute to the nationalism, courage, medieval chivalry and sacrifice exhibited by the Mewar rulers of Sisodia and their kinsmen and women and children, between the 7th and 16th centuries. The rulers, their soldiers, the women folk of royalty and the commoners considered death as a better option than dishonor in the face of surrender to the foreign invading armies.
