We decided to take the scenic rout over to Santa Fe.
Santa Fe is the capital of the state of New Mexico.
It is the fourth largest city in the state and the seat of Santa Fe
County.
This area was occupied for at least several thousand years by indigenous peoples who built villages several hundred years ago on the current site of the city.
It was known by the Tewa inhabitants as Ogha Po'oge (White Shell Water Place)
The city of Santa Fe, founded by Spanish colonists in 1610, is the oldest city in the state and the oldest state capital in the United States. Santa Fe (meaning holy faith in Spanish)

Lincoln New Mexico FULL TOUR - In search of Billy the Kid and the Old West
Lincoln in New Mexico is a step back into the Wild Wild West. It was here that such men as Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett left their marks.

Lincoln is an unincorporated community in Lincoln County, New Mexico, United States, located approximately 57 miles (92 km) west of Roswell (by road) and just south of the Lincoln National Forest. The town had a population of about 800 in 1888, and Main Street has been preserved by current residents. The community lies on U.S. Route 380.
Originally called Las Placitas del Rio Bonito by the Spanish families who settled it in the 1850s, the name of the community was changed to Lincoln when Lincoln County was created in January 16, 1869. Lincoln county was founded by five cultures. First discovered and lived on by Natives, discovered again by Conquistadores, settled by Mexicans, then re-established by Anglo-Americans. It was named after Abraham Lincoln.
Lincoln was at the center of the Lincoln County War, 1876-1879, and is the historical home of Billy the Kid. The village holds an annual festival in August featuring an open-air enactment of The Last Escape of Billy the Kid.
For about a year during World War II, the Old Raton Ranch, an abandoned Civilian Conservation Corps camp on the outskirts of Lincoln, was used to confine Japanese American railroad workers and their families. All 32 internees came from Clovis, New Mexico; the town's entire Japanese American population was placed under house arrest shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor brought the U.S. into the war, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service evacuated them to Lincoln on January 23, 1942. Unlike the assembly centers where most Japanese Americans spent the first months of their wartime incarceration, access to school, employment and recreational activities was not permitted in Lincoln. On December 18, 1942, the internees were transferred to several of the more public concentration camps run by the War Relocation Authority.
The Lincoln Historic District was made a National Landmark in 1960

Haunted Herzstein Museum Stair Rattle
During our investigation of the Herzstein museum in Clayton, NM, the metal stairs outside the wall of the kitchen started shaking violently. At first it was thought to be thunder but there is no lightning from the window. There were two people upstairs in the office where these stairs lead and they had the door open. When this rattling started, they were startled by the sound that they jumped. The museum's security cameras showed no one was on or near the stairs.

BENT'S OLD FORT - LA JUNTA, COLORADO
Bent's Old Fort is an 1833 fort located in Otero County in southeastern Colorado, United States. A company owned by Charles and William Bent and Ceran St. Vrain built the fort to trade with Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho Plains Indians and trappers for buffalo robes. For much of its 16-year history, the fort was the only major white American permanent settlement on the Santa Fe Trail between Missouri and the Mexican settlements. It was destroyed under mysterious circumstances in 1849.
The area of the fort was designated a National Historic Site under the National Park Service on June 3, 1960. It was further designated a National Historic Landmark later that year on December 19, 1960. The fort was reconstructed and is open to the public.
Driving on US 41 from Fort Myers to North Fort Myers, Florida
U.S. Route 41 (US 41) in the U.S. state of Florida is a north–south United States Highway. It runs 479 miles (771 km) from Miami in South Florida northwest to the Georgia border north of the Lake City area. Within the state, US 41 is paralleled by Interstate 75 (I-75) all the way from Miami to Georgia (on the northern border), and I-75 has largely supplanted US 41 as a major highway.
Like all AASHTO designated highways in Florida, US 41 always carries a FDOT designated hidden state road number:
State Road 90 from US 1 (SR 5) in Miami to the junction with 5th Avenue/9th Street/Tamiami Trail north (US 41/SR 45) in Naples.
State Road 45 from US 41 (SR 90) in Naples to the junction with US 441 (SR 25) and North Main Street (CR 236) in High Springs, with the following exceptions:
State Road 45A between the north and south termini of US 41 Business (SR 45) in Sarasota County.
State Road 684 from the junction with the south end of US 41 Business (SR 45) to 44th Avenue Connection in unincorporated Manatee County.
State Road 55 from 44th Avenue Connection to the north end of US 41 Business (SR 45) in Palmetto.
State Road 599 from the junction of the south end of US 41 Business (SR 45) and SR 676 east near Tampa to US 92 (SR 600) in Tampa.
State Road 600 from US 41 south (SR 599 south) to Nebraska Avenue (SR 45 south) in Tampa.
State Road 25 from the junction with US 441 (SR 25), US 41 (SR 45) and North Main Street (CR 236) in High Springs to the Georgia state line near Jennings.
Concurrencies include US 301 between Bradenton and Palmetto, US 92, in Tampa, US 98 and SR 50A in Brooksville, SR 44 in Inverness, US 27, between Williston and High Springs, US 441 between High Springs and Lake City, and US 129 between Hillcoat and Jasper.
According to both AASHTO documentation and FDOT straight line diagram inventory, the defined southern terminus of US 41 is located at Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, but FDOT has chosen not to sign the final leg of the route past SR 90 since 2000. From there, the route runs concurrent with SR A1A westbound, then south along US 1/SR 5, before meeting the route's signed southern terminus at Brickell Avenue.
Land Water People Time - film excerpt 1:31
2011 New Mexico Screening Tour : Land Water People Time TBA
The film LAND WATER PEOPLE TIME, is a collection of the nearly disappeared stories from Northern New Mexico's diverse cultures, traditions and heritage. People of the northern geography of New Mexico are shaped by historical relationships to natural environments, by neighboring cultures and sustained by the waters of northern New Mexico. Why are these experiences slowly disappearing?
