First time to actually see someone open a sea urchin, there are just tiny bits of yellow edible body inside and these wild urchins were about 10-15 years old so it takes a huge amount of time for them to grow. I would say it is a pity to bother killing them at all even if I like very much the taste. I will never have one killed for me again! Their dendrites touching the water and their thorns moving and helping them to walk around while looking like total ???? aliens, what a wonder of our world's evolution!!
The staff selling at the Rausu Seafood Souvenirs market were soooooo kind, they gifted us tea and let us try for free a large piece of expensive ???? crab and more urchin on top of it. It was way beyond expectations, how generous they were, still feeling bad for not having purchased more there however we were touring around for couple of days and nowhere to put the fresh seafood...
And then I am also trying some urchin in Utoro city at the famous 知床かに乃家知床寿司Shiretokokaninoyashiretoko Sushi where so many celebrities have been. It was extremely expensive and not really impressing for that price but there are not many other restaurants in the area and that explains it.

知床八景-雙美瀑布是屈指可數的落差80公尺、寬度30公尺的瀑布。因瀑布分為2股水流流淌，所以被稱之為「雙美瀑布」。登上階梯便可在瀑布中間左右的位置上近距離觀賞瀑布，這迫力迷住了許多觀光客。瀑布上還設有展望台，可以看到鄂霍次克海和知床連山。另外還開設店鋪，可以進行短暫的休息(資料摘自Yahoo)。

12月の湿った雪が枝についており、
そこにオオワシがとまると舞い散ります。
別の森では2羽のオジロワシが喧嘩していました。

45年ぶりの記録的大雪から一週間、2月14日から2月15日にかけて関東甲信地方の内陸部を中心に2月8日を上回る大雪に見舞われました。
この映像は翌日の東京郊外、府中市（新宿から20㎞）の様子です。
山梨や秩父、群馬などでは1m以上の積雪となり大きな被害が発生しました。
特に山梨県は陸路が完全に孤立。この時の豪雪は後に平成26年豪雪と命名されました。

Atami and Ito, located at the root of Izu-hanto Peninsula and facing Sagami Bay, are areas with modern hotels, Japanese inns with historical backgrounds, and various amusement facilities, all standing next to each other to form one of the leading hot spring resorts in Japan.
In Atami are the famous Atami, Izu-san-onsen, Izu-Yugawara-onsen and Ajiro-onsen hot springs. At the heart of Atami Hot Spring resort is the Oyu Geyser that spouts huge quantities of hot water.
Hokkaido Japan Day 7 | Sunayu Onsen, Shiretoko Bear Country and Melody Road
This is Day 7 of living in a van in Japan, traveling all over Hokkaido the north island of Japan. Today we went from Lake Kussharo to Nemuro and slept in the van at another random parking lot. This was our first full rainy day in Hokkaido but still turned out amazing. We saw the red crowned crane in the wild, many deer, a geyser and much more.

野付半島はラムサール条約に登録されている湿地。ラムサール条約というのは、「特に水鳥の生息地として国際的に重要な湿地に関する条約」と定義されています。野付半島の付け根から野付半島の観光の拠点となる野付半島ネイチャーセンターまで、フラワーロードと呼ばれる一本道が通っています。この道を走っていると湿地とともに様々な水鳥を見かけることでしょう。ここではすぐ横が海で、しかも水面が間近です。野付半島と野付湾周辺では、今までに２３５種類の野鳥が確認されているというから驚きです。この野鳥の楽園を守るのにも条約が重要な役割を果たしていることはいうまでもありません。バードウォッチングには最適な場所ですので、是非双眼鏡を持って出かけましょう！
