MILFORD SOUND CRUISE with Real Journeys - Queenstown to Milford Sound
Today, I went on an incredible journey to Milford Sound, New Zealand. Originally, I wanted to rent a car to go there for a Milford Sound Cruise, but that would have been a long drive from Queenstown and I just didn't want to do it myself.
So I asked my hotel to book me on the best bus they knew of. And I am SO glad they did!
Milford Sound really makes you feel tiny. Even the drive down from Queenstown is amazing. I told out driver along the way that it was so impressive, I'd feel like I got my money's worth even if we didn't make it to Milford Sound.
I took my trip with Real Journeys and it was about $200 NZD. The driver was fantastic! He narrated the trip the whole way down, using personal experiences to paint a picture of the history of Fiordlands National Park. He was amazing.
Can't recommend Real Journeys highly enough. I'm not one for bus tours, but this one was really worth it, in my opinion.
You can read more about that experience here
And sorry about the sound in some places. The wind was really blowing hard. And while I have a great microphone, I don't think the windscreen was attached properly. Still, it's pretty great!

Real Journeys Queenstown Winter Festival 2019 Aftermovie
Queenstown comes to life during winter and the Real Journeys Queenstown Winter Festival is the official celebration of the exciting season ahead. 4 action-packed days across the Wakatipu mountains and lakes set the scene for a range of activities including the Real Journeys Fireworks, Ladi 6 rocking out on the Bathhouse Stage, Dodgeball, and heaps of crazy snow sports at Cardrona Alpine Resort.
We were tasked to create an Aftermovie of the event for Real Journeys, and with our reactive team we were able to capture simultaneous events. Handheld camera movements, cinematic drone work, motion controlled timelapse, complex gimbal systems, and hi-spec selfie cameras all played a unique role in creating an authentic representation of the festival.

Milford Sound Nature Cruises - Real Journeys, New Zealand
Milford Sound, New Zealand is a world-renowned natural wonder. Nowhere else in Fiordland do the mountains stand so tall, straight out of the sea. Luxuriant rain forest clings to sheer rock walls and waterfalls tumble hundreds of metres to the sea below. Whatever the fiord's mood â brooding and wet, or tranquil in the sunshine â it will inspire you.
Explore MilfordSound on a daytime Nature Cruise with Real Journeys. These extended cruises are led by specialist nature guides with strong conservation and scientific backgrounds.
Relax on board a character vessel that has been designed along the lines of traditional trading scows and take the time to truly absorb the beauty of the fiord. Nature Cruises offer a close-up experience of Milford Soundâs spectacular scenery, and the chance to view wildlife such as seals, penguins and dolphins. Throughout the cruise, the guides provide an in-depth commentary and share stories of the fiord's history. The cruise's flexible itinerary allows plenty of time to enjoy the fiord and to pause to view highlights.
Excursion includes luxury, glass-roofed coach from Queenstown (with courtesy pick-ups from most accommodation; English only commentary). There's plenty of time for short walks and photo stops along the way.
Doubtful Sound Wilderness Cruises - Real Journeys, New Zealand
Doubtful Sound in the south island of New Zealand, is an unspoilt and remote wilderness of many moods. One minute clear, blue and sun-drenched, the next mysterious and mist shrouded.
Cruise across beautiful Lake Manapouri and coach over Wilmot Pass to Deep Cove where you will board our catamaran for a three hour cruise taking in the dramatic scenery of Doubtful Sound.
Our nature guides are always on hand to point out the highlights and wildlife sightings are common (dolphins, seals, penguins).
Coach connections from Te Anau and Queenstown available.
