Aqui podemos ver a natureza no seu melhor. Subimos o rio por entre floresta quase virgem de manguesais, aqui e ali encontra-se uma casa de pescadores e alguns campos de arroz. O contraste entre o azul da água e céu, o verde e castanho das margem e o branco das nuvens é soberbo. No fim da viagem de barco chegamos a uma aldeia típica e muito bonita, com uma praia perfeita para as fotos. Depois é possível atravessar a floresta até chegarmos a nova praia. É daqueles passeios que marcam pela sua beleza natural!

Ream National Park - Cambodia, close to paradise
Ream National Park is one of the less well known parks in Cambodia. It gets very few tourists so go and see it before it gets too crowded. Located in the south, 18 km from Sihanoukville, it was established in 1993. Ream national park contains beaches, mangrove forests, tropical jungles and over 150 species of birds and a colony of monkeys.
We employ the services of a Ranger that guides us into the park. We take a boat trip around the mangrove forests and then walk into one of the heavy forested islands. The Ranger, a very nice guy from Takeo province, explains that inside the park borders there are still some families living who were there even before the park was established.
Unfortunately there is still some illegal hunting and logging that keeps the Rangers very busy.

Travel from Kampot to Ream Beach Sihanoukville | Camping at Ream National Park Beach in Cambodia
We traveled from Krong Kampot, the city of durian to Ream National park and beach. We traveled on National road 3 from Krong Kampot to Veal Rinh market at Prey Nob district, turn left on national highway 4 heading to Sihanoukville. We turn left again to Ream National park and the beach, it's the same road to Sihanoukville International Airport. When getting to the beach, we turned right to the fishing village and then turn back to Ream beach for a place to stay and dinner. We can't find the guest houses or hotels as there are 2 hotels but expensive and full. We decided to ask the cottage owner along the beach for camping there as we all have our own tents. We paid them 50000riel (US$12.50). It was a great night by the beach at Ream and a fresh morning when we got up. it's a beautiful and relaxing morning with the smell and sound of the sea.

Ream National Park Cambodia - An Off-Road Motorbike Adventure
Left Kampot where I had been staying since arriving in Cambodia to head to the Sihanoukville/Otres area and decided to go on a off road adventure through Ream National Park with my motorbike! It was so much fun and felt great to ride through nature!
