Rearguard Falls - Tete Jaune Cache, British Columbia May 2018
Updated video of Rearguard Falls after a few years. From what I've seen from past visits the Fraser River and waterfalls was flowing more aggressively with the spring runoff. Find this site just outside of Mount Robson Provincial Park and near Tete Jaune Cache where the Yellowhead Highway 5 & 16 meet.

Rearguard Falls - Tete Jaune Cache, British Columbia August 2018
Since I was back in the Robson Valley area again for my summer vacation. I've made a return to Rearguard Falls to see the sight again and maybe catch some salmon. While I didn't see any salmon did notice the flow isn't as fast from the spring runoff and also capture the area that's socked in from the wildfires happening in the province.

Rearguard Falls, Fraser River, Tete Jaune Cache, BC
These falls mark the limit for salmon who have migrated 800 miles up the Fraser from the Pacific Ocean. Was there a little too early in the year to see it, but nonetheless, a very nice falls with a brand new viewing platform right overtop of the raging waters certainly makes this a place worth stopping!

Rearguard Falls Provincial Park Fraser River BC, Kanada 2015 (Camping-Trip)

Rearguard Falls is a rough water river and white water rafting river located in the famous Fraser River in British Columbia Canada. It is between the town of Tête Jaune Cache British Columbia and Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia along the famous Trans Canada Highway called: The Yellowhead Highway
Why is it called Yellowhead? Well, I thought you might have never asked me this question. The Name Yellowhead comes from the early Native Fur Traders and they used this route to hunt beavers and wolves and anything that had furs on them. The name comes from the French words: Tête Jaune which literally translates into Yellow Head. This highway stretches all the way from Manitoba Canada into the Pacific Coast of British Columbia Canada. The highway is named after for the Yellowhead Pass, the route chosen to cross the Canadian Rockies.
The Pass and the highway are named after the Fur Traders and explorers. The fur traders and Explorers used to have Yellow Streaks in their hair and they were named Tête Jaune which as you have read above to translate into English as Yellow Head.
Therefore, going back to Rearguard falls is one the most beautiful sights you can encounter along the so called Yellowhead. Some of the most spectacular scenery can be found here along this area. The famous Yoho Valley National Park, the famous Mount Robson and Berg Lake Hiking Trails and sceneries all over the places.
So if you love White Rafting and you love kayaking into the wild waters of the Fraser River, then the Rearguard Falls is the place for you. As you can see there are some youth who take on this adventure of white rafting and enjoy the rides. You should as well. After all Canada is full of adventures.
The entire Yellowhead Highway from Manitoba Canada to the Pacific Ocean is 2859 Kilometers which if you divide 2859/1.8 it will give you 1777 Miles. That is because 1 Mile = 1.8 Kilometers.

This is a video my sis made of a holiday we took in the Canadian Rockies around Jasper and Mt. Robson. You'll hear loons, avalanches, picas. See a hoary marmot. Beautiful scenery. It's not as good quality as the original which you will find on her channel: She also played the guitar in the sound track.
