The Last Forbidden tibetan Kingdom: Mustang
Mustang is one of the few places in the Himalayan region that has been able to retain its traditional Tibetan culture unmolested… authentic Tibetan culture now survives only in exile and a few places like Mustang, which have had long historical and cultural ties with Tibet. - His Holiness the Dalai Lama
The landscape of Upper Mustang is indescribably beautiful, eroded cliffs, red-walled monasteries and snow-capped peaks, bathed in hues of orange and red rocks. This stunning area is inhabited by the magnificent snow leopard, the endangered Bharal (blue sheep) and the mythical Yeti (abominable snowman).
Nestled in the Himalayas at 13,000 feet, Mustang is a Tibetan kingdom that falls within the boundaries of Nepal. Its capital, Lo Manthang, is a medieval walled city, within which the Tiji festival—a purification ritual—takes place at the beginning of every harvest season. The origins of the festival predate Buddhism, born out of an animistic and shamanistic tradition. You can accompanied the voyeurs of a living history; the costumes and dance steps of the Tiji festival have remained the same for over 600 years during your this trip.
Because of its isolation and unique alliances with the leaders of Nepal, the semi-feudal kingdom represents perhaps the purest existent Tibetan culture in the world. The history of Tibet itself is an imbroglio of warring sects, involving the sublimation and destruction of kingdoms, all incited by the significant doctrinal differences between them. The Kingdom of Mustang remains a thriving testament to the Red Hat sect of Tibetan Buddhism (unlike the Yellow Hat sect to which the Dalai Lama belongs) and is the only surviving continuous Tibetan monarchy, currently ruled by a direct descendent of the very first king.

The Nepalese Honey That Makes People Hallucinate
Nepal’s Gurung people live mostly in small villages in the vast Annapurna mountain ranges. In this remote region, they practice an ancient tradition of honey hunting where they descend towering cliffs on handmade ladders, to harvest honey nestled under jagged overhangs.
In spring, the Gurung’s honey contains a rare substance called grayanotoxin from rhododendron flowers that’s known for its intoxicating effects. While some accounts say it’s a deadly poison, others refer to it as an aphrodisiac, powerful medicine, and a hallucinogenic drug.
VICE travelled deep into the Annapurna mountains to join a Gurung village on their spring hunt and understand Mad Honey's effects.

Miracle survival of Taiwanese, in Himalaya
Miracle survival: Missing Taiwanese trekker found after 47 days
As there has been much interest and many conflicting reports about the missing Taiwanese Trekkers in Nepal Ms. Liu Chen Chun, and Mr. Liang Sheng Yueh.
Here Asian Trekking uploading this video to give a complete account of the Search and Rescue efforts leading up to their discovery. On 26th march, the families of two Taiwanese trekkers visited Asian Trekking. The trekkers, who had been traveling with no guides or porters, had been reported missing for over two weeks since they failed to contact their families as scheduled on the 10th of March. Their families requested Asian Trekking to organize and conduct the Search and Rescue of the missing trekkers. Between 27th March- 10th April, a 4 member Asian Trekking Search and Rescue team was dispatched and tried to retrace the steps of the missing trekkers. They focused their search around Tipling, Somdang and Pangsang area but had to stop the search due to heavy snow cover and incoming bad weather. On 20th April – Asian Trekking Search launched a second attempt. The Rescue Team drove to Dhading besi, where they recruited a local man named Dawa Tamang to aide in the search due to his familiarity with the area in question. On 26th April, while searching in the Pangsung area the Asian Trekking search and rescue team noticed vultures flying over a deep ravine near Nachet Kharka and rushed there to investigate. While descending down towards the ravine through the forest, they spotted red cloth in a cave under a waterfall located an altitude of around 3600m. The location was not easily accessible so they had to climb down with the help of dry tree trunk. At around 11:45 they spotted the missing couple lying inside the cave. Hearing the men talking Liang Sheng Yueh slowly moved and greeted them. With great sorrow he pointed to Ms. Liu Chen Chun and told the team she was no longer alive. As per Liang the two of them were trapped in that place from 11th March when they tried to descend in the hopes of finding a settlement near the river down valley. While descending they slipped down on the snow and were trapped as they were unable to climb back up and out, nor climb down to due the steep cliffs on all sides. For 4-5 days they ate the food they carried with them and they managed to survive only on water and salt until they were discovered by the search team. Mr. Liang informed us that Ms Liu passed away just 3 days before the rescue. Asian Trekking Search and Rescue Team Member Mr. Madav Basnet contacted Asian Trekking Head Office in Kathmandu at 11:47. It was immediately established that a helicopter rescue by long line (rope-sling) would be the only possible way to extract Mr Liang. We were fortunate that Simrik Helicopter, who is specialized in long line rescue, could go to the spot immediately with expert long line pilot and team. Two helicopters were sent as we planned to bring Mr. Liang Sheng Yueh to a hospital in Kathmandu as soon as possible and another helicopter to bring the remains of Ms. Liu Chen Chun separately. The helicopter with Mr. Liang Sheng Yueh landed at Grande Hospital at around 4:30 PM and immediately the medical team took care of him. The second helicopter with Ms. Liu Chen Chun's remains landed at Kathmandu airport around 5:15 PM and the body kept at Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. At 7:00 PM, the medical director, Dr. Chakra Raj Pandey MD, of Grande Hospital informed us that all the reports of Mr. Liang Sheng Yueh's medical condition is stable and that he is out of any critical danger. Mr. Liang remains admitted at the Grande Hospital in Kathmandu.
28th April, afternoon, arrival of Mr. Liu Yun Sung, father of Ms.Liu Chen Chun And Mr. Liang Taien Chin father of Mr. Lian Shen Yueh from Taiwan.
29th April, Post mortem of Ms. Liu Chen Chun held at Teaching Hospital Maharajgund and cremated her at Sywoyambunath by Buddhist ritual. Mr. Liu Yun Sung flew back to Taiwan with ashes of Ms. Liu Chen Chun.
01 May, Mr. Lian Shen Yueh discharged from Hospital and flew that evening with his father.
Though we are happy that Mr. Liang is back with his family to Taiwan, it is with sadness that we express our sympathies to the family of Ms. Liu Chen Chun. May her soul rest in peace.

Honey Hunting in Nepal | Scaring Documentary | 2019
Honey Hunting In Nepal - In the heart of the Himalayas of Nepal, there lives a tribe of Gurung who would risk their lives harvesting mad honey from “The great - Himalayan giant honey bees”, the biggest and one of the most dangerous honeybees in the world. This treacherous tradition that dates back to hundreds of years holds a great religious and cultural importance for these people, mostly Gurungs and Ghales of Tanje Village in Lamjung.
The grayanotoxin present in the honey has some healing qualities as well. This mad, toxic, hallucinogenic, red honey is traded to the countries like Korea, China and Japan where they use it for medicinal purpose.

SUMMARY
=======
Tibetan Buddhist architecture, in the cultural regions of the Tibetan people, has been highly influenced by Nepal, China and India. For example, the Buddhist prayer wheel, along with two dragons, can be seen on nearly every temple in Tibet. Many of the houses and monasteries are typically built on elevated, sunny sites facing the south. Rocks, wood, cement and earth are the primary building materials. Flat roofs are built to conserve heat and multiple windows are constructed to let in the sunlight. Due to frequent earthquakes, walls are usually sloped inward at 10 degrees.
The Potala Palace is considered the most important example of Tibetan architecture. Formerly the residence of the Dalai Lama, it contains over a thousand rooms within thirteen stories. Portraits of the past Dalai Lamas and statues of the Buddha are on display. The palace is divided between the outer White Palace (which serves as the administrative quarters), and the inner Red Quarters (which houses the assembly hall of the Lamas, chapels, 10,000 shrines, and a vast library of Buddhist scriptures).Temples and monasteries were all built by Tibetan Buddhist followers. All decorations—plated statues, elaborate frescoes, and expensive silk hangings—were all bought and paid for by donations. The following list contains only a portion of all Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries, as many of the Monasteries were destroyed when Tibet was annexed by China.
