The folks involved in our protest feel there is a systemic problem that protects abuse of power by the state & we are aware of a pattern that seems to be state-sanctioned violent racism. These events are extremely tragic on many accounts. It is deeply troubling that, in what is said to be a great nation, wearing a certain uniform provides a total monopoly of force & relief from all accountability even in blatant wrongdoing. Police brutality is not freedom & justice for all, state-sanctioned murder is not a shining example of all men/women are created equal, & these events call into question just exactly who the police serve & protect.

In Little Rock, we also have experienced the emotional trauma of unjustified use of deadly force by police officers:



... but in response to the Ferguson decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson & the ensuing protests, the Little Rock Police Department issued this statement:



We would like to thank LRPD for taking the opportunity to show how the police department is supposed to act by protecting the human right of free speech rather than oppressing our outcry. While the local police were present, no one was confronted during the fifteen minutes of peaceful protest.

The people of Little Rock encourage other communities to work together with local law enforcement as best as possible, but we also understand you may not feel the same. We do believe that when we treat each other as brothers & sisters the results are very pleasant, despite what pains we have felt in the past. We wish for everyone to have peace, love, & harmony in their communities so you may grow together & have wonderful shared human experiences.

Pregnant Mom Dies in Car Crash That Suspect Livestreamed on Facebook

A professional boxer, who allegedly crashed his car into a pregnant mother of four, livestreamed the immediate aftermath of the accident instead of helping the woman. Krystil Kincaid, 29, and her unborn child were killed in the crash, which police said was the fault of boxer Marcos Forestal, 28, who was allegedly driving under the influence at the time of the incident and veered into the wrong lane before slamming into Kincaid.

Bodycam Shows Police Fatally Shooting Man in Las Vegas Shootout

Body camera video released by Las Vegas police shows a police involved shooting earlier this week where a suspect was fatally shot near the Las Vegas strip. The shootout left two Metro Police officers shot and one injured. The 25-year-old Miguel Salas died from a fatal shot to the head.
