At the 2:34 time-line there is a Float saying VFW 50th Anniversary VFW started in 1899. 50 years later would be 1949. That's my guess, at least, some of this footage is from then. The last few minutes looks like the late 50s, maybe very early 60s. Know anyone,.. or places? Enjoy!
Trailside Nature Museum In River Forest Il.
Out in Chicago's western suburb of River Forest is a tiny nature museum and rescue .center that has been there forever. The Hal Tyrrell Trailside Museum is located on Thatcher just south of Chicago. It is a great place for young children and animal lovers of all ages. I stopped for a visit on a nice fall Sunday.
In this video we see the outside of the museum including the WW 1 memorial and the outside cages. In the cages we see a turkey vulture, a hawk, coyote, and a red tailed fox. We have also posted a clip of a walk through the woods in back of the center.
