Powered paragliding - Ontario - long point convergence found !!
We flew from Turkey point to Longpoint today. We got up pretty high across the channel.
My go pro batteries died at the end of the video, so it didn't show the crazy convergence we hit over long point.
I am just gliding with the engine off here in the video.
As I learned today, on an general east wind at long point, lake erie, a convergence happens where it is north east wind on one side of longpoint and a south east on the other side. this creates a massive upflow of air in the middle of longpoint running up the point of land, in the middle of lake erie !!! on a blue sky day !!! unreal !!!
I had the engine shut off for an hour just surfing this wicked air convergence.
I now have to go back soon on the same conditions to ride this air explosion all day.
What a great day. I love paramotor soaring and thermalling.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The Maritime history of the United Kingdom involves events including shipping, ports, navigation, and seamen, as well as marine sciences, exploration, trade, and maritime themes in the arts from the creation of the kingdom of Great Britain as a united, sovereign state, on 1 May 1707 in accordance with the Treaty of Union, signed on 22 July 1706. Until the advent of air transport and the creation of the Channel Tunnel, marine transport was the only way of reaching the British Isles. For this reason, maritime trade and naval power have always had great importance.
Prior to the Acts of Union, 1707, the maritime history of the British Isles was largely dominated by that of England. (See Maritime history of England for more details.)
