Hiked the Hooker Valley Track at Mt. Cook | Loved the NZ Meat Pies! | Backpacking New Zealand
Riley and I went on a two-week backpacking trip to New Zealand during the Christmas holidays!
Here's our video of our Day 7 in NZ where we hiked the Hooker Valley Track at Mt Cook / Aoroki. We passed by three suspension bridges before we reached the Hooker Lake View Point.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to see Mt Cook at the end of the track due to the low-lying clouds covering the mountain.
We had to go back to the lodge as soon as we've reached the end of the track to make sure we checked out on time and not incur any additional room charges.
We ended our morning hike at the Sir Edmund Hillary Cafe & Bar enjoying the view of Mt Cook Village where we ordered some delicious meat pies (again) for our post-hike meal! :)
We'd love to go back to this place in the near future and hopefully by then, we'll get the chance to see the beauty of Aoroki.

Wild Lupins on the Coast of Lake Tekapo + Hiked Kea Point in Mt Cook! | Backpacking New Zealand
Riley and I went on a two-week backpacking trip to New Zealand during the Christmas holidays!
Here's our video of our Day 6 in NZ where we took the Great Sights Intercity bus from Christchurch to Mt Cook Village. En route to Mt Cook, we stopped by Lake Tekapo -- enjoyed the beautiful views and danced with the wild blooming lupins surrounding the coast. We also passed by the very famous Church of the Good Shepherd. Upon arriving the Mt Cook Village, we checked in our accommodation at Mt Cook Lodge and Motels. We also went on a hike to Kea Point before ending the day with meat pies for dinner at the Sir Edmund Hillary Cafe & Bar.

New Zealand's South Island part 4. The Hooker Valley Track is the most popular short walking track within the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park in New Zealand. At only 5 kilometres length and gaining only about 100 m (330 ft) in height, the well formed track can be walked by tourists with a wide range of level of fitness.

Sealy Tarns Track: Dangerous Snow Hike – Mt Cook, New Zealand
Hiking to Sealy Tarns was a big adventure for the both of us. As it was a bit snowy after a while. We didn't expect as deep snow as we got further up the mountain. Afterwards we say was silly to walk this amazing track without snow gear.
We met some more people even less prepared and we have them the advice to turn back.
Our advice to you: Get informations about track conditions at the visitor center, be prepared & tell somebody. Enjoy this amazing hike which is part of the Mueller Hut track.

CONQUERING THE 2,200 STEPS UP TO SEALY TARNS | VLOG 010
New Zealand Day 3 - What an amazing day we had! We started it off with an amazing sunrise mission at Tasman Lake with perfect conditions and then spent the day soaking up the sun while we edited all day. We then made our way up 2,200 stair to Sealy Tarns with a beautiful sunset right through the valley. Defiantly a memorable moment.
