The Queensland Cultural Centre is a multi-venue centre located at South Bank, Brisbane, capital city of Queensland. It consists of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), the Queensland Museum, the State Library of Queensland (SLQ), the Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) and the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). The cultural centre was listed on the Queensland Heritage Register on 12 June 2015.[1]
The original part was designed by Brisbane architects Robin Gibson and Partners and opened in 1985. In 2010, Robin Gibson and Partners were granted a 25 Year Award for Enduring Architecture by the Queensland Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA).[2]
The GOMA building designed by Kerry and Lindsay Clare,[3] directors of the Australasian firm Architectus, was added to the complex in 2006. In 2007, the building received three awards: a Brisbane Commendation and a Public Architecture Award from the Queensland Chapter of AIA; and a National Award for Public Architecture, again from AIA. Then in 2010, the Clares received the AIA's Gold Medal for their work

Whale Watching, Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia - 8th September, 2015
The humpback whale is a species of baleen whale, adults range in length from 12–16 m (39–52 ft) and weigh about 36,000 kg (79,000 lb). Found in oceans and seas around the world, humpback whales typically migrate up to 25,000 km (16,000 mi) each year. Humpbacks feed only in summer, in polar waters, and migrate to tropical or subtropical waters to breed and give birth in the winter when they fast and live off their fat reserves. This film features views of humpback whales breaching the ocean surface and expelling air from their blow holes in Moreton Bay, a short distance from Brisbane, off of the Queensland Coast, Australia.
The film begins at Redcliffe where the whale watching boat departed from, it features views of Moreton Bay and Moreton Island, and then numerous views of humpback whales within Moreton Bay.

Opto | Phil Price
The kinetic sculpture Opto is by Phil Price of Christchurch, New Zealand. Commissioned by the Moreton Bay Regional Council and installed in 2011 at Redcliffe, QLD, Australia.
As the title suggests, this sculpture is about looking. It is focal point, while looking at the sculpture you can't help but see through to the environment beyond.
The giant pair of round frames are placed where the land meets the sea and move in response to how the wind is blowing.
Opto serves as a celebration of this beautiful place: past present and future.
Opto's movement is entirely wind powered. It was made of composite materials and steel in Phil's workshop in Christchurch New Zealand.
Private, public and corporate commissions undertaken world-wide. Contact Phil Price.
