Redwood Park: Fairytale Forest.
Redwood Park, located on over 80 acres is a gem hidden in South Surrey. Originally owned by twin brothers who were given 40 acres each from their father; they had a passion for exotic trees and filled this beautiful park with 32 different species native to North America, Asia and Europe. The brothers lived in a tree house on the property and a replica is located right by the trails. With pristine, large mature trees it’s easy to spend a day walking, exploring and learning in this beautiful park. The nature trail is approximately 5 kilometres.

join us today as we explore the
secret fairy trail inside of Redwood
Park in Surrey BC

this is one of the coast redwoods
planted at redwood park

redwood Park is named after a grove of
redwood trees which were planted by a
pair of twin brothers who lived on site
in this area back in the 1890s the
brothers had built two previous houses
but they were actually destroyed by fire
this here is a re-creation of a tree house which they
lived in which was their third
establishment and was built as a
reminder of the parks origins

if we go this way in behind the tree house we
should find the trail leading to the
fairy village let's check it out

whole village of fairy houses

it looks like there's a whole colony of
fairies that lives here

the fairies seem to have made use of an
uprooted tree which has become home to
many of their fairy houses not only
along the route base right along the tree trunk

the fairies seem to stick to a basic
painted wood frame building but the
occasional fairy seems to be a bit more
artsy like this each fairy here with the
house covered in shells

and it looks like some of the locals
have actually donated houses for fairies
to come here maybe this is some sort of
fairy retirement home

very nice houses are
quite high up actually must have flown
up there to reach that that's about 20 feet high

there's a fairy hotel for visiting
fairies maybe from out of the area

unfortunately we didn't see any fairies
here today but we did see probably
hundreds of there different different
buildings of all shapes and sizes so
that's gonna do it for today at redwoods

Most, if not all, of these trees were brought over by twin brothers in the form of seeds and/or seedlings. They nurtured them and they flourished. The trees are from all over the world. They are magnificent and stunning.
In the midst of these trees is what I've dubbed Fairy Land. A section of the forest has been decorated with house/homes for the fairies. It was an accidental, beautiful find. It went on and on. These were all made by children. The most incredible of all is that they have not been vandalized.
Some of the locals are not so receptive but the way I look at it is this...The brothers who created this forest, for everyone, lived in a tree house. Seems to me if they are carefree enough to do that, then I don't think that carefree children, creating homes in trees for fairies, would upset them.
