SCUBA diving the Great Barrier Reef (from Cairns)
SCUBA diving on the Great Barrier Reef is something I've wanted to do since I was very little and I'm feel very fortunate and thankful that things fell into place for me to be able to make it happen. I'll never forget this experience and I hope you've enjoyed the video I made highlighting my experience on the reef. Also, this was the first time I ever shot any footage underwater and I had a lot of fun doing it, hopefully I can shoot with something a little more versatile than a GoPro in the future.

Some of the wildlife that I saw on this dive included a green turtle, bumphead parrotfish, Great Barrier Reef Anemone fish, Pink Anemone fish, a few different species of batfish, clownfish, Maori Wrasse, a Titan Triggerfish, a Kuhl stingray, a few species of angelfish, and also a messmorizing giant blue clam. I went on these dives in September of 2016.

Great Barrier Reef Dive & Snorkel - Port Douglas Australia
Join me for the experience of a lifetime - diving and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Port Douglas with Poseidon Reef Cruises.
A Typical Day in Cairns, Australia
Although we only spent a short two days in Cairns Australia, there was an insane amount of things to do. To start, we took a day trip with Reef Experience out to one of several Great Barrier Reef locations where we swam with Nemo and many other fish. Next we hopped on board the Sunlover cruise ship which brought us to our favourite part of Cairns- Fitzroy Island. This island had hikes, snorkelling and a bar/restaurant of which we spent a decent amount of our time. To finish off, we did a little shopping at Rusty's market where local farmers brought their good and sold fruits, honey, clothes and more at a low cost. After all of this, we were quite exhausted especially considering a lot of Australia has been experiencing record heat waves. The best way to spend this was to cool down in the Lagoon, Esplanade where you can find free BBQ stations and a lovely and safe turquoise swimming pool to relax and take a dip in.
