Beach Trail to Anini Beach Princeville Kauai Hawaii
Shaky video but you get an idea of the trail that leads to Anini Beach in Princeville. It is under a tree canopy with a waterfall and fresh water stream along the way. Trail begins at the end of Wyllie Rd.

Ke'e Beach Sunset, Kauai Hawaii
Incredible sunsets are synonymous with Ke'e Beach Park. Located literally at the end of the road on Kauai's North Shore between the dramatic Na Pali Coast and Limahuli Stream, the reef lagoon at Ke'e Beach is a favorite snorkeling site. The water is clear and there are tons of colorful reef fish and turtles. Ke'e Beach is probably the most visited beach on Kauai. The famed Kalalau Trail begins at the western end of the beach. Several movies and min-series have been filmed here. Ke'e Beach has a very tropical look with a backshore lushly vegetated by ironwood trees, coconut palms, ti, and guava.
One of the most romantic spots on the island. The road to Kee Beach from Princeville takes you past the Taro Field overlook. You then travel past a pull out overlooking Hanalei Bay, rated the #1 beach in the US in 2009. At the bottom of the hill is the first of many historic one lane bridges. The taro fields are on the left and it is where the majority of all the Hawaiian taro is grown today. You will then arrive in our favorite Kauai town, Hanalei. There are many fine shops, restaurants, and historic buildings in Hanalei. Hanalei Pier is located at the end of the beach and where South Pacific was filmed. Hanalei is just a great town to spend a whole day at between the beach, food and shops. The town has many surf shops that guaranteed to get you up your first day. There are also kayak rentals and boogie boards.

SeaLodge Beach Path, Kauai Hawaii
Located in Princeville on Kauai's north shore, SeaLodge Beach is a hidden gem. It is a small pocket of sand, surrounded by lush vegetation. (It reminds me a lot of Hideaways Beach~ same size with coral outcrops) Most of the time, the beach is empty because not many people know it's there. The reason is mainly access issues. If you're not a guest at SeaLodge Resort, there is basically no way that you can park anywhere near the trail to the beach. Even in the adjacent neighborhood, street parking is not allowed. They will tow your car. No public parking is available. So if you really want to visit this beach, park in the Makai Golf Course parking lot just 10 minutes away.
There is a reef on the near shore ocean bottom, so the best activity here is snorkeling, especially when the ocean is calm. Turtles also like this area. When the surf is up, currents often times form and the waves can be too dangerous and reach all the way to the base of the cliff. To get to the beach, you'll have to hike to it (takes about 10-15 minutes). The path itself is picturesque too and well worth it.
The path starts at Keoniana Road. Look for the yellow chain in the cul-d-sac. The first third of the hike is a paved path down to the water tank. The real path begins on the backside of the water tank. It is an easy path to follow and it crosses a small stream. The path cuts through the forest then follows the ocean around to the beach. The path does become narrow and to reach the beach at the end of the path you have to crawl down a few boulders.

Epic Snorkeling Kauai, Hawaii: Poipu Beach HD

Just returned from a fantastic trip to Kauai, Hawaii. Swam, snorkeled, and hiked all across this beautiful piece of paradise. One of the best beaches I visited was Poipu Beach (Poʻipū), southern Kauai. The sheer number of fish was astounding and the calm waters at the time made for very relaxing snorkeling.
You will notice there isn't quite as much active coral as on other island beaches, however, the number of fish made up for it. Initially, it was little cloudy, hence the darker water, but it cleared up quickly. Please don't touch the coral or feed the fish here, leave no trace and respect the water!

This terrific guide reveals the top dream destination in America - perfect for a wedding or a vacation where you can swim, surf, golf, hike, kayak, parasail, scuba dive, snorkel, sail or just kick back and relax on the beach.
Incredible Travel Planner - See the videos and then plan a spectacular vacation to a land of incredible beauty and fun. The following is a short overview of this enchanting paradise.
Oahu - See Honolulu, Waikiki, the north shore & the Bonsai Pipeline; pineapple fields; Waikiki Aquarium with reef sharks, sea dragons; the Polynesian Cultural Center with dances by native Fiji, Tahiti and other Polynesians. The Bishop Museum has the cloak of Kamehameha, Hawaii's most famous ruler. It was made from feathers of 60,000 birds. At the museum also see models of whaling ships, which were based in Hawaii in the 19th century when they hunted whales throughout the Pacific.
Maui - This island has beautiful golden beaches, shopping and spectacular golf courses. Or take the challenging drive to Hana with its dramatic waterfalls, lush rainforests, and picture perfect views, plus the 7 sacred pools, which almost look like the Garden of Eden. Mount Haleakala is called the House of the Sun and at the top of this mountain, you'll see a crater, which is bigger than Manhattan. It's over 2 miles wide and 7 miles long. For a unique challenge take a bike ride down - one of world's longest downhill bike rides. Iao Valley is one of Hawaii's most spectacular sites. In fact, it's so beautiful that it's been called the Yosemite of the Pacific. Inside the center of this heavenly valley is the stunning Iao Needle, which rises over 1200 feet. Nearby there's a small park, which pays tribute to Hawaii's diverse heritage, including immigrants who came from Korea, Japan and China. There are gardens, and pavilions.
The Big Island - You'll see Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and get a close up look at these stunning displays of nature including explosive volcanoes with lava flows. And see the Thurston Lava tube, which was formed after the lava flows, stopped. The cooler outer layers hardened but the hotter inner layers continue to empty out of the tubes. Then see the town of Hilo, where many cruise ships stop. Nearby are Rainbow Falls and also an even much larger even more stunning 420-foot waterfall. Plus see Hawaii's most sacred areas for their royalty, which includes wooden guardians watching over a sacred temple where over 20 chiefs were buried. This is where there were ceremonies for the high chief, his wives and warriors. It is where Hawaii's chiefs both relaxed and managed the country. Captain Cook was the first European to land in Hawaii. Hawaiians initially thought that he was a God, since his impressive ships appeared during a sacred festival. But quickly, they realized he was a mere mortal. There were fights and Captain Cook was killed. Coffee and bananas are grown here and agriculture still plays an important role in Hawaiian's economy. Also Hawaii has cowboys -- that's right cowboys. Mexicans came to Hawaii in the early 1800s to herd cattle even before cowboys were common in the Western U.S. The largest Ranch was the Parker Ranch which at one point covered almost half million acres. Since this is a young island, it has only a few white sandy beaches. And on this active volcanic island, the sand can be black.
Kauai - See Waimea Canyon, Kauai's most famous site. As you travel through this area, you'll see waterfalls, which are over 700 feet high. Many filmmakers have used this dramatic scenery for films such as Raiders of the Lost Ark. The most popular resort along the southern coast is Poipu Beach, which has long stretches of golden sand. See the coconut coast and the north shore near Princeville. It's so impressive, that when they made the movie South Pacific', they filmed it here. Further west at the end of the road is the base of a 1300-foot cliff, and it's where the Na Pali Coast begins.

This on the northern shore. The lighthouse to the east is Kilauea Lighthouse. This was a great place for swimming, as even thought the waves were really high during our trip, there's a breaker reef for this area that calms the water down.

60-foot waves, fierce winds cause dangerous conditions in Hawaii
When it gets cold every winter, Hawaii becomes an increasingly popular retreat.
But climate experts in the Aloha State told USA TODAY on Monday that tourists cannot escape climate change – not even on the islands, where 60-foot waves and wind gusts up to 191 mph were part of a fierce weekend storm that downed power lines and felled trees.
The weather became so dangerous, the Hawaii Tourism Authority advised tourists not to surf, hike or swim.
