The Order Of The Bath! (1938)
Titles read: THE ORDER OF THE BATH!
Barnet, Hertfordshire.
Various shots of showgirls from the Prince of Wales Theatre in London frolicking about in swimsuits in the grounds of the 'Thatched Barn' - looks like a country club. They leapfrog over each other, do handstands and play a game that involves catching a little ball in a cone-shaped cup. They then do some high kicks in a line, showing off their new telescopic swimsuits (ruched, stretchy material - and some of the most unflattering swimsuits ever!).
Palm Springs, California, United States of America.
At an open-air swimming pool we see swimming stars Ruth Jump, Majorie / Marjorie Gestring, Micky Riley and Dutch Smith doing some complicated dives from the board. The last three are introduced as Olympic champions.
Note: old database says The Thatched Barn was a road house in Borehamwood, Herts, near Elstree Film Studios.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

Elstree Studio Casting (1925-1929)
Elstree Studio Casting (Borehamwood, Hertfordshire). 1925 - 1929?
Possibly for film “Elstree Callingâ€.
Motion pictures; production. Casting at Elstree film studio in London; c. 1925? Great raw footage of Elstree directors; including a young Alfred Hitchcock; looking over would-be actresses at a cattle call audition.
Group of young women; nearly every one w/ her hair in fashionable marcel waves; parade in a circle around a room; past table where the studio men sit; frowning and smoking cigars and making notes. The girls are a mixed bunch: some are very pretty; some are rather plain; some seem to be experienced models w/ confidence and professional moves; others stiff and awkward. They are dressed in a variety of day and evening dresses - great fashions.
The aspiring ingenues step up to the table one at a time and read a few lines from script - shots of this from various distances and angles; CUs of two of the girls reading. Hitchcock sits (or rather slumps) on the left end; if one is facing the table. Finally a shot of girls sitting in 2 rows looking nervous; boys wait their turn in 2 more rows of chairs in back; Theatrical / movie lights; wooden frames for movie sets; a pulled back curtain; etc. all add to atmosphere.
Note: if anyone knows who the other directors or actresses are, please let us know! - SL.

Dusty Springfield And Jimi Hendrix: 'Mocking Bird'
In the making of this Lucky Motions Production our primary motive was to create a visual presentation from the only known existing film of the broadcast performance that compliments the complete audio soundtrack we were fortunate enough to obtain from a member of the Lets Talk Dusty, Dusty Springfield fan Forums.
Presently the only known film footage, which is badly damaged and sadly incomplete, originates from a home movie. The original recording of this home movie was made by actually pointing the camera at the television screen and recording the live broadcast.
Though much painstaking work has been done on this film close examination would appear to indicate that this is not the restoration of one complete performance, but the compilation of the rescued film of the three songs performed by Jimi Hendrix on the Dusty show, which included Jimi's duet with Dusty Springfield.
With the aim of producing a visual presentation which would accompany the audio recording of the duet, 'Mockingbird', the existing compiled film has been edited and reconstructed to mimic the original duet sequence more in felt keeping with the audio recording rather than the present reconstructed and rescued film clip does at present.
Therefore the shots of the band on set without Dusty being in them, the shots of Mitch Mitchell hammering the hell out of his drums, the shots of Noel Redding playing bass, and the shots of Jimi playing guitar with his teeth and some of the solos more in keeping with a performance of 'Voodoo Childe' which did not fit in with the tempo or feel of this audio recording have been edited out of this reconstruction.
That however left very little actual footage from which to work from. Never the less, with some creative innovation a reconstructed sequence reflective of the feeling of the audio track was constructed. We hope you feel, as we do, that the film is more in keeping with the tempo and mood of the audio recording than the existing reconstruction of original surviving film.
Though we have already stated how the audio recording from Show Six on the 13th June 1968 in what is known in Dusty circles as the 'ATV Recordings' was acquired, it should be noted that this recording would appear to have been made on a reel to reel tape recorder by placing a microphone next to a television set. As such the original audio recording was of exceedingly good quality although in mono and with the voices of those in the room able to be discerned excitedly exclaiming as Dusty announces which song she and Jimi are about to perform. This original audio recording has been worked on and enhanced during the production of this film. To date it is the only known complete audio recording of this unique performance.
Though ViperTheUndead and Lucky Motions have had the audio recording since 2012 we did not have any of the existing known 8mm film, or access to it, although a copy of it was published on YouTube on 13/9/2012. That left us with the problem of obtaining it for the purpose of this reconstruction. Rather than 'ripping' it via methods which might not be entirely legal we decided to embrace the spirit of those who made the original audio and film recordings. Simply put, we aimed our camera at the computer screen and filmed the film in exactly the same manner the original film was recorded. It is from this film of the film, recorded by Lucky Motions, that the reconstructed footage has been constructed from at The Lair.
This film and enhanced soundtrack were produced first and foremost for all the members of the Lets Talk Dusty forums, and is dedicated to all of them. We hope the wider viewing public enjoy this film just as much.
