The Tower of London
The Tower of London is yet another ghostly location where Anne Boleyn, the evil wife of Henry VIII and also the two princes, namely, Edward (12 years old) and Richard (9 years old) were executed along with many other prisoners. In fact, all these individuals had been subjected to inhuman torture before meeting their doom. The headless figure of the ill-fated queen is often seen at her execution site. Even the two princes have been observed clutching each other in sheer intimidation before their tormentors.
Glasgow Necropolis, Scotland
It is quite natural for a cemetery to be haunted particularly if it belongs to the Victorian era, and the Glasgow Necropolis is no exception to this. Moreover, there has been a myth associated with this particular symmetry which involves a vampire with iron teeth. Also, on many occasions, the ghostly figure of a white lady has been witnessed moving across the cemetery. Apart from this, there have been reports of other types of paranormal activities, right here that will surely give you sleepless nights.
British Transport Police Station
This location in the UK has been said to be occupied by a male ghost. In fact, in the year 1977 one person heard a loud door slam in the British Transport Police Station. He discovered some footsteps that led to a toilet and when he followed it, to his dismay, he found none there. Three decades later, almost the same experience was encountered by another person in the same area.
Woodchester Mansion, Gloucestershire
The fourth most haunted locations the UK is arguably Woodchester Mansion. Ii is situated in Gloucestershire, where individuals claim to have been assaulted by ghosts even physically. Many paranormal activities have been cited here and among those, mention may be made of a spooky horseman as well as a ghost in the basement.
Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
In case you happen to be in this dockyard, don’t be surprised if you find some sailors getting involved in a brawl while having a drink. And, his decomposed body was displayed to others as a warning. Even now, one can hear the sound of chains from time to time.
Borley Rectory, Essex

It was completely destroyed by fire in the year 1939, and since then many paranormal activities had been reported by lots of witnesses. Brooks Williams - Bright Side of the Blues (with Rab Noakes) (Official Video)
Official Video by Andy Craig. From the album Lucky Star, available now at brookswilliams.com .
At the crossroads of blues and American roots music you’ll find Brooks Williams. “Setting new standards and a fresh direction for the blues,” says Blues In Britain, and creating a “beautiful fusion” (Keys And Chords). Just when you think he can’t sing a blues-ier note, he sings it. Just when you think he can’t strum a deeper groove, he strums it.
Brooks Williams was born in Statesboro, Georgia, USA (the town made famous by the classic song Statesboro Blues), and did his apprenticeship in the small bars and coffeehouses of New York and Boston, following in the footsteps of Chris Smither, Rory Block, Shawn Colvin, Maria Muldaur, David Bromberg and Leo Kottke, all whom he gigged with from time-to-time when he was starting out.
The result of those early years is an unflagging career that goes from strength to strength. “Lucky Star,” Williams’ 28th solo recording, is already turning heads and making itself known on playlists throughout the world. The Second Line groove that runs throughout every track would make the late Allen Toussaint proud.
Williams performs hundreds of solo and band shows throughout Europe, North America and the UK each year and regularly collaborates with an impressive list of fellow musicians, including Hans Theessink, Guy Davis, Sally Barker, Boo Hewerdine, Paul Jones, and Rab Noakes.
Ranked in the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists, he’s a mean finger-picker and a stunning slide guitarist. Plus, “he has a beautiful voice,” says AmericanaUK, “that you just melt into.” That voice earned Brooks a nomination for Best Male Vocalist by Spiral Earth, one of the UK’s most respected roots music publications.
He’s no slouch as a songwriter, and has an impeccable ear for a good cover. Williams’ original songs are typically sophisticated musically, and yet sound immediately familiar – a sign of a skilled songwriter”, writes Down At The Crossroads. His massive repertoire spans classic roots and blues. Check out his version of Dave Alvin’s “King Of California” and follow it with Williams’ instant classic, “Gambling Man.”
Brooks Williams has played all the major stages, like The Birchmere in Virginia, The Guthrie Center in Massachusetts, The Tolbooth in Scotland, The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in England, Meneer Frits in The Netherlands, Harvest Blues in Ireland, The Avalon Theater in Maryland, JazzLand in Austria, The Stables in England, and Blues Au Chateau in France. And he gets invited back.
He’s played the Fairport Cropredy Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, Costa del Folk, Shrewsbury Festival, Celtic Connections and the Glastonbury Festival.
He’s recorded for labels as diverse as Signature Sounds, Green Linnet Records, Reveal Records, Solid Air Records, as well as his own Red Guitar Blue Music. He’s learned the studio trade first-hand working with roots music producers like Colin Linden (Blackie And The Rodeo Kings, Bruce Cockburn) in Toronto and Phil Madeira (Buddy and Julie Miller, Emmylou Harris) in Nashville.
His instructional guitar workshops frequently sell out, and his teaching is in demand at music camps and colleges around the world. His music has featured on the BBC (UK), RTE (Ireland), CBC (Canada), NPR (USA) and Sirius XM (USA), and he’s charted on the FOLKDJ chart, EuroAmericana chart and Blues Lists around the world. WUMB-FM in Boston (USA) voted him one of their Top 100 Artists.
Praised by Blues Matters, fRoots, Rolling Stone, the Boston Globe and Mojo, Williams is at the top of his game. His tour schedule has never been busier. He writes and records at an astonishing pace. He loves it, and that love exudes from every note.
“It might have been a lucky star which brought Brooks Williams to UK shores, but it is pure talent, hard work and relentless touring which has brought him to the pinnacle of his career.”
— Dave Scott, Blues Bytes

By Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft.
This amateur production of 'Allo 'Allo is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd.
Following their hugely successful 2017 production of The Vicar of Dibley, Project Play are delighted to return with yet another side splitting classic ‘Allo ‘Allo...
Based on the hugely successful British television series that ran for seven seasons, this uproarious comedy embraces the adventures of the hapless cafe owner, Rene, in occupied France. Featuring all of your favorite TV characters, including Rene's tone-deaf wife Edith, Major-General von Klinkerhoffen and the Gestapo officer Herr Flick! He and his wife have stashed a priceless portrait stolen by the Nazis in a sausage in their cellar, where two British airmen are also hiding until the Resistance can repatriate them. Communications with London using the wireless that is disguised as a cockatoo add to the many embarrassments this intrepid proprietor endures in the company of his patrons. News that the Fuhrer is scheduled to visit the town inspires tricksters disguised as Hitler to frequent the cafe. Meanwhile Rene summons all the wit he can muster to save his cafe and his life.
Featuring a very special message from the original BBC TV Series’ Yvette, in the form of Vicki Michelle, the whole experience will be simply un-missable!! The humor and script in this production is very similar to that of the TV Series.
Some dialogue may be considered unsuitable for younger children.
Tickets: £16
A £1 ticket levy is included in all stated ticket prices.
