蓮華院誕生寺奥ノ院(Taking a walk of the Okunoin Temple) in Tamana City
天気も良いし、今回は畏れ多くも蓮華院誕生寺奥ノ院と呼ばれる寺院の境内でDIYローアングルスタビライザーの練習です。この寺は大梵鐘と参拝すると『一願成就』の願いが叶うことで有名。ローアングル用を使ったので上部の被写体の撮影が思うように出来ませんでした。
思っていたより映像が不安定になりました。次回はFlyCamを使って再び挑戦予定。 BGM 煉獄庭園さんの曲名『今昔の絆』を使用させていただきました。

Due to the divine protection of Maha-Bodhisattva Kōen and the supplicatory prowess of Zeshin Daisōjō, the great bell was cast in Kyōto and safely brought to be housed in this belfry in 1977. When the narrow and steep mountain road between downtown Tamana and Oku-no-in was unusable for 6 ton trucks at the time, the 37.5 ton bell was transferred to Oku-no-in on a gigantic 20 ton tag trailer without even leaving its tracks on the road. It seemed as if the bell had simply flown up the mountain and this seeming miracle inspired the name Hiryū or Flying Dragon.
The diameter of the Bell (2.8m=9.18ft) is derived from the following sacred Buddhist passages summarizing the works of the Buddha.
抜苦 与楽 離業 得脱

Removing distress,
Bestowing solace;
Leaving karma,
Achieving nirvana.
KU, the Japanese word for sufferings, is homophonous with the word for the number nine; and GŌ meaning karma with the number five. The diameter of the bell was accordingly determined to be 9 shaku 5 sun (9.18ft) in the traditional Japanese units of measurement. The Great Bell thus represents the Buddha’s compassion, ringing out KU and GŌ. Ringing this bell in earnest devotion promotes Buddha’s protection.
