Tumbas antiguas.
Not the best season for Rengejiike Park in Fujieda (Shizuoka Prefecture), park well known for its wisteria. Not the best day but didn´t rain so much. And I find the lotus seeds support a very aesthetic still life. Good views of Fujieda. Ancient tombs.

Whew, today’s breakfast was a more calm event than yesterday’s. Looks like the big crowd left. Still folks were picking on anything they could get their hands on before the 7 o’clock breakfast start. They grabbed plain rice, takuan, miso soup and breakfast rolls. I guess that makes for a relatively OK continental breakfast. The ladies started us off at 6:55 a.m. this morning. Same-old, same-old favorites of mine, NATTO and CURRY-RICE! Breakfast for da travelers! I went poke my head out the window at the end of the hall just to check out Fuji-san and guess what? I could see Fuji-san free of clouds. Wow, should have been yesterday. Dat’s da breaks!
Today, I went move house. Packed up my junks and went to the shinkansen station. Saw a nice view of Fuji-san with some clouds starting to creep up. Fuji-san probably going be clouded up like yesterday by this afternoon. Well, mox-nix since I’m moving on and so I caught the shinkansen to Shizuoka then transferred to a local train. After 5 crawling stops I got into Fujieda. Fujieda? Where’s dat and why? I was trying to figure dat out myself. I can’t find the reason why I selected Fujieda. Since it was too early to check in I dropped my junks off at the hotel and then went BURA-BURA. After about 2 hours, I ended up at a park, got a beer, some musubi and kimpira. Then went walk around some more. Finally gave up. I caught the bus back to the train station, jumped on that next local train that went by and stopped off the next station, Nishi-Yaizu. Walked around, saw interesting stuffs but nothing significant so I went back to the train station, jumped in a cab and told the driver I wanted to see Tanaka Castle. Went there, he waited, I took a few pictures and we zoomed back to the train station. Roughly $15. I jumped on the next train back to Fujieda and finally checked into the Toyoko Inn at 3 p.m.
After settling into the room., checking e-mails, etc., it was time for dinner. I walked around the station and saw this restaurant/café called TIME. It displayed a bunch of dishes which looked interesting so I walked in. Kinda interesting place. It had all kinds of souvenirs from all over the world and it played American oldies but goodies. See the pictures. No English menu but the young lady walked me through the menu. I ordered neggie toro (fatty tuna with green onions over rice). ONO! Nice relaxing place.
