Common Eastern Brown Snake caught at Plush’s Bend Renmark South Australia
Whilst camping with the family at Plush’s Bend on Christmas Day, many campers along with ourselves encountered many Brown snakes and even a couple of Red Bellied Black snakes.
For the safety of everyone in the area, I tailed this one and released it on the other side of the Murray River. Away from people who thought a shovel would be the best fix for it.
Please remember that most snakes bites occur when people try to interfere or kill a snake. Don’t try and copy the handling techniques in this video, I am a trained and licensed snake catcher.

Unusual ? behavior from a Common Eastern Brown Snake at Plush’s Bend Renmark, South Australia.
Managed to capture this unusual behavior of a Common/Eastern Brown Snake. It appeared to be searching for food underwater. If this is what it was actually doing, I’d say this is the first time this behavior has ever been captured on video.
Footage was taken at Plush’s Bend campsite, just out of Renmark, in he Riverland district of South Australia.
Remember- always keep a safe distance from snakes. Most snake bites occur from people trying to interfere or kill the snake.
