Russian President Vladimir Putin has taken part in a ceremony of blessing the foundation stone of the future main cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces that will be built on the territory of Patriot Park, located some 50 km to the southwest of Moscow.
The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill I conducted the service of consecration of the stone and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu attended it, too.
Putin told the public that had gathered for the ceremony the consecration of the corner stone of the future Cathedral in the Name of Christ’s Resurrection was an important historic event, as the cathedral would be dedicated to victory in World War II.

More than 5,000 new churches built in Russia under Patriarch Kirill
We’ll lay the foundation stone of the Resurrection Cathedral today, Putin said. It will be dedicated to our people’s victory in the Great Patriotic War [the combat operations on the Soviet/Eastern front of WW II from June 22, 1941, through May 1945 - TASS]. It will be the main church of our Armed Forces, one more symbol of our invincible national tradition, our fidelity to the memory of our ancestors and their deeds for the benefit of homeland.
He reiterated that every Russian had a sacred duty of remembering and cherishing the memories of the people, who had given their lives for their homeland, and fostering respect for them in the new generations of people.
Patriarch Kirill I called the Armed Forces the main factor for the maintenance of this country’s freedom, independence and sovereignty.
It is common knowledge that Russia has never conducted wars for land grabbing, he said. Russia maintains its Armed Forces, as it understands it will be they that will defend its sovereignty and historic destiny of the people at times of trouble and danger.
That’s why the significance of the Russian military is hard to overestimate, Kirill I said.
Vladimir Putin was shown a dummy of the church building and the adjacent territory after the ceremony and had a tour of a display familiarizing the public with the murals of the cathedral’s side-chapels, which are mandatory structural elements in an Orthodox church, under-the-dome spaces and frontals, as well as icons that Moscow Patriarchate will commission for the cathedral.
The escorting officials told the President an especially interesting detail about the future cathedral, namely, that it would consist entirely of metal. For instance, its fa·ade and the interior decorations would be made of bronze.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made public the start of construction of the main cathedral of the Armed Forces earlier this year. Prior to it, the idea got the consent and blessing of Patriarch Kirill I.
In addition to being a place of worship and a spiritual site, the Resurrection Cathedral will also take on the role of an education center for soldiers, Orthodox clergymen and civilian Russians. Its territory will also house an exhibition highlighting the rise of the Russian state and its Army and Navy.
The building will be 95 meters tall, inclusive of the Cross, and its floor areas of 10,950 meters will have enough space for up to 6,000 worshippers at a time.

The next morning, I headed for St. Isaac Cathedral. This cathedral, the third largest in the world, was built in 1818 and completed in 40 years. The huge size of over 100 meters and the golden shining roof stand out. I went inside the cathedral. The interior looks gorgeous and the top dome looks eye-catching. On the roof that symbolizes the kingdom of heaven is drawn the image of the twelve apostles. There are 22 painters' paintings and canvas paintings on display. Both the ceiling and the floor are delicately decorated. Tourists and pilgrims can not stop coming. It is now a tourist destination, but it is a very important place. It's like the Vatican. This is because it is like a house of God to all the tourists and to all the Lebanese like me, Koreans like you. About a thousand years ago, Russia, which was rich in various religions and local beliefs, needed a unified religion. Vladimir I, who was then the Grand Duchy of the Principality of Kiev, adopted the Orthodox Church of Greece and became a state religion and later developed into Russian Orthodox Church. Currently, about 75% of Russian people believe in Russian Orthodox. I went up to the top of St. Isaac's Cathedral along a circular staircase. The highest space you can see at a glance. Upon arriving at the summit, a panoramic view of Saint Petersburg was unfurled. The ships and golden pagodas that cross the Neva River look spectacular. During the Second World War, the gorgeous golden color of the roof of St. Isaac's Cathedral caused catastrophe. The Germans who invaded St. Petersburg attacked the roof of the cathedral as an index. After that, Germany surrounded the city for 872 days and many people starved or froze to death.

STORYLINE:
Patriarch of Moscow and Russia, Alexis II headed the Easter service at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow Saturday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov and Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov attended the service.
More than five thousand people gathered at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral overnight through to early Sunday morning.
The building was decorated with flowers, all lampstands and candles were lit up, and clergymen were in white Easter vestments.
The religious procession held around the cathedral at midnight is especially solemn.
After the religious procession Patriarch Alexis II was the first to say, Christ is risen!. Thousands of people responded, He is risen indeed!
The Radiant Resurrection of Christ is the main holiday of Orthodox Christians.
To Christians, Jesus Christ is the Son of God who sacrificed himself for all human sins and by his death on the cross and the Resurrection, granted to the whole humankind freedom from the slavery of sin and eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
Alexis II called on the congregation to pray for the miners still trapped inside a Siberian coal mine after an explosion on Saturday sealed a shaft with rubble.
At least 29 miners were killed and rescuers were trying to free about 20 others missing underground at the Taizhina mine in the Kemerovo region.
''''We pray for the families of the perished miners, so that God gives them courage to carry them through this difficult loss, because working underground in mines is always a great treat and is always a life-threatening task,'''' Alexis II said.

Following the Russian Revolution of 1917, the Soviet government closed the lavra in 1920. Its buildings were assigned to different civic institutions or declared museums....
In 1930, the famous monastic bells, including the Tsar-bell of 65 tons were destroyed.
In July 2012, the bells were restored and replaced replaced.

About 300 years ago, St. Petersburg was born when the Petropavlovsk fortress was built. Peter the Great, then the king of Russia, built St. Petersburg to protect Russia from the invasion of Sweden and to accept Western culture. The fortress in the center of the city looks like a huge castle. Walking on the bridge towards the Petropavlovsk Fortress, people are throwing coins on the rabbit statue. I have said that when I throw a coin to a rabbit, I make a wish. I say that when I put a rabbit together with a coin, I make a wish, but I do not know if it is true. I believe that it will just happen. Before the fort was built, there were many rabbits here and they called it Rabbit Island . It is impressive to see the past through memories. I went inside the fortress. After passing through the thick gates, ancient architecture begins to be seen. A splendid city made for war. We can feel the ambition of Peter the Great, who tried to make Russia a modern nation.

Spiritual Beauty of the Candle Stand in the Orthodox Church, Tolleshunt Monastery.
Spiritual Beauty of the Candle Stand in the Orthodox Church, Tolleshunt Monastery.
Hi Brethren,
BEAUTY OF THE CANDLE STAND AT THE CHURCH
It is a nice place and in the Eastern Europe, there is spirituality but the Abbotts, who act like the school masters think that they know everything. I went to their Church on Sunday, 03 July, 2016 and studied the Candle Stand and found it to convey all the spirituality that you need to study the Gospel. The stand had six legs over which it was standing and number six stands for the six types of works or David's cross. Then, there were Three rings over which you put the candles. The bottom first ring had two circular plates; one bigger than the other and they were in pairs. It referred to the natural family in which man is the head of family. Thus, the bigger lamp plate represented man, the master of the House and the smaller plate for the candle represented wife. All the lamp holders in the first lower ring were in pairs representing the secular world of pairs.
Then, by the grace of our Father your soul makes progress by receiving holy spirit, then you become twice-born of Spirit and being solitary, all the light holders in the ring were of the same size. On receiving holy spirit or “common sense”, you become clever and rule over the natural once-born people as father rules the house. When, you use holy spirit for the benefit of humanity, and then it is called Holy Father as a school master is over his Disciple students who do what their Master will tell them to do. When, the School Master Rabbi becomes crook or had evil spirit, then his sensible students would start seeking a Shepherd to guide them to our Supernatural Father God called Elohim, Allah, ParBrahm, etc. to satisfy their spiritual hunger. That is why Christ Jesus came to fulfil their desires and picked them up. In this spiritual stage, they are of doubting type whether to go for material gains in Mammon or the spiritual gains Gospel Treasures to become the Fishers of Men.
Then, the same on the Third a little smaller candle ring of the same size lamp plates as of the second but a little fewer. That is, many are called but a very few are chosen. On top of the Third ring of Candles, the fourth one has a platform for Rest or Resurrection and a Big Candle of God is lit in that we have Merged with Him to become His Spokesmen, the Apostles. This was the Reward of Holy Spirit by our Father at Pentecost when our Foreman Shepherd Christ Jesus presented his Friends to our Father to receive their Rewards, the same Holy Spirit for each and Peter with no holy spirit or common sense at all, on receiving the very Spirit of our Father was over joyed than the rest who had the holy spirit.
This is a very brief account of the Candle Stand representing the Four spiritual states called Birtties in Punjabi and they are 1. Haume, Ego or Khudi, 2. Mind, Munn or Nafs, 3. Budhi, wisdom or Akall and finally, the Fourth is called Chitt, Will or Khhiyaal. Thus, the bottom one is our natural once-born of instincts and they have animal nature of head hunting. They go to a Rabbi to learn the moral laws of Moses or Ram Chander to be morally disciplined otherwise they would kill each other as the head hunters do. Thus, the Rabbis have Disciples, the students and they obey the Rabbi Ruler without any questions as Saul did to his Rabbi Gamaliel even though his conscience was revolting.
Sensible twice-born of our Mother Holy Spirit do not need discipline but Labouring in the Vineyard of our Father on solitary basis enjoying Freedom of our Father. Thus, Jesus had no blind followers as the Rabbis had. Twice-born Judas Iscariot of evil spirit who was stealing money from the purse and had fingers in the other fold of Mammon; the Temple Priests went for Mammon and deceived Jesus for thirty Shekels. The Rest of Ten scattered to Preach Gospel whilst the once-born Baby Simon nick named Peter followed Jesus as the Disciples would follow their School Master Rabbi to the Temple but denied Jesus when he saw that they were beating him mercilessly. Thus, Peter’s denial of knowing Jesus is a solid proof of harsh beating that Jesus was given by the bribed Roman and Temple soldiers.
What a beautiful piece of Candle Stand but the spiritually blind Monks full of the ego would not listen to me and they turned their deaf ears if I wanted to talk to them. The same deaf and dumb man whose ears Jesus opened by putting his fingers or St. Paul said, “Listen to everyone and vet them by holy spirit” and He spat on his tongue to make him speak or Preach the Gospel Truth as He himself was proclaiming. In these Abbotts is fulfilled Matt.12v43-45 making the situation worse than before the arrival of Jesus?

Jan. 7 is a great day for all Orthodox Christians. On this day we celebrate Christmas, which is considered one of the greatest Christian holidays, because on this day is celebrated the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ. How important is this day for humanity is seen in that this day is taken as a key date, the cornerstone for computing of time, so we have the old and the new era, meaning time before and after the birth of Jesus Christ.
This holiday is also called the mother of many holidays because if we had not this holiday, meaning, if Jesus Christ wasn't born, there wouldn't happen his baptism, would not existed the Epiphany, nor Crucifixion and Resurrection, Ascension - Veligden, Pentecost, Transfiguration etc.
Merry Christmas!

The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood , St. Petersburg, Russia. Day 9
The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood is one of the main sights of St. Petersburg, Russia.
This church was built on the site where Emperor Alexander II was fatally wounded by political nihilists in March 1881. Construction lasted 24 years, between 1883 and 1907.
The project is made in the Russian style, somewhat reminiscent of the Moscow Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed.

Here I present an album of photographs of the city of Arzamas in the district of Nizhny Novgord.
Arzamas was founded in 1578 by Ivan the Terrible in the lands populated at the time by Mordvins. By 1737, more than 7,000 people lived in Arzamas and the town became a major transit center on the route from Moscow to eastern parts of Russia. It was known for its geese and onions as well as leather crafts.
Catherine the Great in 1781 granted town status to Arzamas and a coat of arms based on the colours of the Arzamas regiment. In the early 19th century, Arzamas had over twenty churches and cathedrals, the foremost being the Resurrection Cathedral. It was built in the Empire style to commemorate the Russian victory over Napoleon in 1812.
Alexander Stupin the Russian painter and art teacher founded and led the Alexander Stupin Art School between 1802 and 1862 and many famous Russian artists studied there, including Vasily Perov.
