RETHYMNON CRETE 2018
Filmed in Rethymnon, Crete, between July 24 and August 7 2018.
During summer 2018 Anita turned 60 (Kos 2018 and her daughters Christina 40 and Camilla 30.
We planned a joint celebration of the three birthdays in Rethymnon and on Tuesday July 24 we departed for Crete for a one week stay at Ibiscos Garden with the respective families. All in all ten people.
We knew that this would be a different Rethymnon vacation compared with what we are used to.
When children and grandchildren went home after one week Anita and I took our suitcases and walked the 500 meters to Ilios Beach, our usual hotel, and stayed another week.
Filmed with DJI Osmo+, GoPro Hero 6 Black and iPhone 6S.
Produced with Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate.
I recorded 576 video clips (40,4 GB) in Rethymnon and used 221 in this video.

The city of Rethymnon (Ρέθυμνο) is the capital of the Prefecture with the same name on the island of Crete. Rethymnon has an old center with Venetian, Greek and Ottoman influences. The sandy beach is 20 km long. Rethymnon has 20,000 residents. The city has a castle (also known as the Fortezza), a Loggia, a lighthouse and a Venetian harbour. I was flying with the DJI Mavic Pro drone.

A DAY IN RETHYMNON / CRETE
Rethymno, Crete: Beach, Old Town & Fortress | Rethymnon | Ρέθυμνο
In this video the travel turtles visit Rethymno, in Crete, Greece. We give a brief tour of the beach, old town and fortress. This is also known as Retyhmnon and is a city on the north coast of this Greek island. The harbour is filled with fishing boats and tavernas and also features a lighthouse built in the 1830's. The fortress (Fortezza) is also featured in this video and was built by the Venetians in the 16th century and captured by the Ottomans in 1646.
We flew here for a 10 day holiday from England and also visited other areas on Crete which you may see in our other videos.
