The day of Russia is an important part of modern Russian culture and traditions. People in every city and village in Russia celebrate it with their families. Russians don`t usually work on this day and can spend it with their relatives and friends.
I took my daughter Nina to the local park, where we watched a concert, visited an exhibition of retro cars and drunk some lemonade instead of traditional Russian Kvass. And now you can enjoy my Russia vlog about this important Russian holiday.

Moscow celebrates 80th anniversary of trolley buses
The Russian trolley bus service marked its 80th birthday on Saturday with a parade in Moscow.
Relics of a bygone era crawled along the Russian capital's main streets as the city transportation system marked the anniversary with a procession of vintage vehicles.
The trolley bus system may not be as distinguished as Moscow's art-festooned subway, but the display of retro electric buses dating back to the 1950s still attracted a small crowd when it stopped at the square outside the Bolshoi Theatre on Saturday.
One bus carried a destination sign for Dzerzhinsky Square - named after the founder of the Soviet secret police but rechristened after the collapse of the USSR.
Another sported a shiny miniature of the famous Moscow statue of a worker and collective-farm woman which was erected in the Stalin era.
I came to see these old vehicles, said 12-year-old Georgy. When you see machinery that doesn't work, it's still interesting - but when it also can operate, it is amazing.
I came to see one of the double-decker trolley buses that I used to ride, a very long time ago, said another onlooker. But it's not here. I enjoyed this very much anyway.
Trolley buses are still a major part of Moscow's public transport system.

As well as a parade of trains running around the Кольцева́я Line to celebrate the 82nd Anniversary of the Moscow Metro, heritage wagons were displayed at Партизанская on the Арба́тско-Покро́вская Line.
The retired trains on display were:
G Type number 530.
Track geometry wagon Type D number 806.
D Type number 2037.
E Type number 3605.
Battery Locomotive VEKA-001.
Converted pick up truck to run on rails perched on a flat wagon.

Russia: Muscovites board retro train in re-enactment of metro network opening
Dozens of people flocked the Sokolniki metro station in Moscow, on Sunday, to re-enact the launch of the city's first metro trains.
The events of May 15, 1935 were recreated with a special retro train and artists dressed in 1930s style clothes were seen playing music and selling drinks typical of the time.
The re-enactment is one of a series of special events held in Moscow to mark the 82nd anniversary of the city’s first metro train launch.

Riding the subway in Moscow, Russia
With over 180 subway stations the Metro system in Moscow, Russia is huge, complex, but convenient. I, myself, rode the rails almost 15 different times for the few days I was in Moscow - I found the system easy to use and very affordable at 28 Rubles per ride at the time (less than one U.S. dollar).
