Here is a video of tonight's Good Friday procession in Korcula Town.The video is captured via live webcam that is (at the present) mounted on the wall to reveil the views over Korcula Old Town's main entrance Revelin Tower.Unfortunately, due to difficult light environment (dark and wet evening accompanied by annoying street lights), the footage itself is of pretty low quality. Nevertheless it still shows interesting movements of procession staged by Korcula's ancient religious fraternities, locally called 'bratovstine'

In all the island towns carnival celebrations are customary. In this period masked balls, maškare, are held every week in Korcula.
Besides individual masks, there are also funny groups with little shows, and masked performances for children. Festivities reach a peak on Shrove Tuesday, when Krnoval is placed on trial because he is to blame for all the misfortunes that happened in the town during the past year. It all ends in his punishment - he is burnt and the people celebrate with traditional local food and drinks.
