Morgan cars are unusual because wood has been used in their construction for a century, for the chassis of several early models and still in the 21st century for the body shell. The Morgan Motor Company Ltd. was established in 1909 by H.F.S. Morgan with the design of the Morgan three-wheeler. A four-wheeled model began production in 1936, and Morgan cars have long become famous the world over for their unique blend of charisma, quality materials, craftsmanship and performance.
The ethos at Morgan remains unchanged: all our cars are coach built and subjected to continual development in order to meet current standards of safety and to offer the responsive thoroughbred performance with which our name is associated. The development of our model-range has taken the marque into the 21st Century, and today Morgan builds in excess of 1300 cars per year. The Aero 8, a major achievement for a small Company, was launched in 2000, and continual evolution of the Aero Range has seen the 8 joined by the dramatic Aero SuperSports and its fixed-head sibling, the Aero Coupe. In 2011 we re-launched the Morgan 3 Wheeler, a modern interpretation of H.F.S. Morgan’s classic design. The early cars were two-seat or four-seat three-wheelers, and are therefore considered to be cyclecars. Three-wheeled vehicles avoided the British tax on cars by being classified as motorcycles. Competition from small cars like the Austin 7 and the original Morris Minor, with comparable economy and price and better comfort, made cyclecars less attractive. Morgan's first four-wheeler, named the 4–4 because it had a four-cylinder engine and four wheels, was released to the public in 1935. Powered by a 34 hp (25 kW; 34 PS) 1,122 cc (68.5 cu in) Coventry Climax engine, and carrying a pair of rear-mounted spare wheels, the new two-seater 4–4 sold for 185 guineas (£194 5s). It proved popular, and a four-place model was added in 1937, joined by a £236 drophead in 1938. Production was halted during World War II but resumed afterwards as the 4/4. Production halted again in 1950 when supplies of the engine used dried up, but resumed in 1955 when a suitable replacement, the 2,088 cc (127.4 cu in) Standard Vanguard inline four, was found, and has continued ever since. A version of the +4, the +4+, was made from 1964 to 1967 with a contemporary fibreglass coupe body. The light weight and reduced drag characteristics improved the performance of the +4+ over the regular +4 in every aspect. However, traditional Morgan enthusiasts did not embrace this departure from Morgan custom, and mainstream enthusiasts did not embrace the seemingly archaic +4 chassis. Only 50 were built. A limited edition Plus 4 was re-introduced in 2014 as the Plus 4 Super Sports. Only 60 cars are made available and each car will be right hand drive. The '100' was so named to reflect the theoretical 100 mph maximum speed of the vehicle. In common with many products of the thirties, the adoption of an animal name was deemed appropriate, and once approved by Sir William Lyons the name Jaguar was given to a new saloon car in 1936, and from that point to all the cars. Following the Second World War, because of the Nazi connotations then attached to the initials SS, the company was renamed Jaguar in 1945. Widely considered to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing Jaguar cars it is also one of the rarest, with only 198 of the 2.5-litre and 116 of the 3.5-litre models being made. Cars Limited the business extended to complete cars made in association with Standard Motor Co, many bearing Jaguar as a model name. The company's name was changed from S. S. Cars to Jaguar Cars in 1945. A merger with the British Motor Corporation followed in 1966, the resulting enlarged company now being renamed as British Motor Holdings (BMH), which in 1968 merged with Leyland Motor Corporation and became British Leyland, itself to be nationalised in 1975. Jaguar cars today are designed in Jaguar Land Rover's engineering centres at the Whitley plant in Coventry and at their Gaydon site in Warwickshire, and are assembled in their plants at Castle Bromwich and Solihull. The Selecter are a 2 Tone ska revival band from Coventry, England, formed in mid-1979.
The Selecter featured a racially diverse line-up. Their lyrics featured themes connected to politics. Reinforcing the songs of Neol Davies were the voice and rude girl style of Pauline Black and the rhythms of Desmond Brown on the Hammond organ. The band's name is based on the term selector, which is a Jamaican word for disc jockey. The band were one of the most successful ska bands of the 2 Tone era, notching up several top forty singles in the British charts.

The Jaguar Mark 2 is a medium-sized saloon car built from late 1959 to 1967 by Jaguar in Coventry, England. The outmoded Jaguar 2.4 Litre and 3.4 Litre models made between 1955 and 1959 are identified as Mark 1 Jaguars.
The Mark 2 was a fast and capable saloon in line with Sir William Lyons' 1950s advertising slogan: Grace . . . Space . . . Pace. See more:
The S-Type was a major redevelopment of the Mark 2. It used a mid-scale version of the Mark X independent rear suspension to replace the Mark 2's live rear axle and featured longer rear bodywork, among other styling and interior changes. The S-Type was available with either 3.4 or 3.8-litre XK engines but only in twin carburettor form because the triple carburettor setup would not fit into what was essentially still the Mark 2 engine bay. By the time of the S-Type's release in 1963, the Mark 2 remained an unexpectedly strong seller despite its age. This Commando 3.5HP two-stroke engine was made in Melbourne. There is some confusion as to who actually made these engines. The manual I have is headeds John Buncle Commando Ltd. but manufactured by Commando Industries Ltd, Barkly St Fitzroy. This example is badged C. Letch Commando Engines of Lygon St East Brunswick. . Like many two-strokes does not run smoothly without load. Smoky due to a recommended 16:1 petroil mixture.

I believe there is a retro revival. I think it goes across numerous products and does include motorcycles. The model we have here is a retro classic, it's very authentic to the original which is a 70s Norton Commando. I think it's a definitive retro classic bike.

I think certainly there's been a renaissance for British manufacturers, not just over the last five years but over the last 20 years. Triumph has celebrated more than 20 years of production from Hinckley in Leicestershire. I think now the way the market has gone we've seen more niche manufacturers, Royal Enfield are doing quite well with their very classic range of machines which are now fuel-efficient and fuel-injected.
