REWALSAR LAKE STORY
Rewalsar Lake is a mid-altitude lake located on a mountain spur in the Mandi district, 22.5 km south-west from Mandi, in India. Its elevation is about 1,360 m above sea level.
The lake is shaped like a square with the shoreline of about 735 m. It is held as a sacred spot for Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists.

There are three Buddhist monasteries at Riwalsar. The lake also has three Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva and to the sage Lomas. Another holy lake, Kunt Bhyog which is about 1,750 m above sea level lies above Rewalsar.[3] It is associated with the escape of 'Pandavas' from the burning palace of wax—an episode from the epic Mahabharata.
It was from here that the Indian teacher and 'Tantric' Padmasambhava left for Tibet. Known to the Tibetans as 'Guru Rinpoche', the Precious Master, it was under Padmasambhava's influence that Mahayana Buddhism spread over Tibet. There are islands of floating reed on Rewalsar lake and the spirit of Padmasambhava is said to reside in them. It is here that the sage Lomas did penance in devotion to Lord Shiva, and the Sikh guru Gobind Singh (22 December 1666 – 7 October 1708), the tenth Guru of Sikhism, also resided here for one month.The Sisu fair held in late February/early march, and the festival of Baisakhi are important events at Rewalsar.

There is a Rival lake in Mandi Himachal Pradesh, which is said to be made of ash. The lake is situated on the foothills of the Himalayas at the height of 1360 meters. It is sacred for Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. Very few people know about this hill station. Let's know the story of this lake-
This story is associated with the great Guru Padmasambhava Rinpoche, who are considered to be the pioneers of Buddhism in Tibet. According to legend, Mandar, the daughter of King Arshadar of Mandi, was studying from Guru Padmashambhava, and both of them started joining spirituality from each other.
When the king came to know of it, he ordered that Guru Padmasambhava be burnt in the fire because at that time Buddhist religion was seen with suspicion. The king made his pigment so big that he was burning for 7 days. After seven days, there was a lake in place of ashes. Of which one of the lotus flowers, Guru Padmasambhava appeared as a teenager.
The king has repented of his wrongdoing. He married his daughter to Guru Padmasambha.

Lomas sage cave
Lomas is the cave of the sage near Rivalsel. It is believed that Lomas sage had done penance in this cave. Shiva sent them here. Therefore it is also called TapoBhumi of Lomas sage. Here it is believed that trees, fish, flowers and water are all forms of any god. Here is the temple of Lomaas Rishi who says that the first temple is built.
This place is the center of reverence for Hindus, Buddhists and followers of Sikhism.
Here are three temples of Shankar, Lakshminarayan and Maharishi Lomash.
There are seven floating terrain in the RivalasarSarovar, there are god-statues on trees grown on them.
Why do Sikhs believe this place is special
It is said that Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, had also returned to Rivals, then he stayed in the cave of Lomas sage. This place therefore became a sacred place of Sikhism. RivalersGurudwara Guru is dedicated to Govind Singh. In 1738, Guru Gobind Singh Rivalers had come. JoginderSen of Mandi built this gurdwara in his honor in 1930. The pilgrims come here for bath here on the crutches.

Riwalsar is best place to visit in Mandi, Himacal Pradesh. Rewalsar or Tso Pema in Tibetan is a small town and a pilgrimage place in a nagar panchayat in Mandi district in India. Seven lakes associated with the Pandavas of Mahabharata are located above Rewalsar. Also associated with Rewalsar are the legends of Lord Shiva and Lomas Rishi. [4] There is also a famous Krishna temple in the town.
The Hindu history of Rewalsar is found in Skanda Purana. A Hindu sage named Lomas was searching for place to worship. He traveled and climbed the top of Drona mountain, from the top of mountain he saw a beautiful lake surrounded by beautiful trees, flowers and birds. He decided to meditate at the bank of the lake, written as Hridyaleshwar in Skanda Purana. He meditated here, and Lord Shiva and Goddesses Parvati blessed him by imparting the secrets of this place where all the Devas and Ganas are in the form of flowers, and trees.

When we started feeding them then hundreds of fish appeared to eat and some of them were even ready to come out of the water. It was a quite exciting experience.
