Powys takes us on an anticlockwise trip over the line at the Rhiw Valley Light Railway. This is a 15 gauge miniature railway in Wales South of Welshpool.

the track reminds me of the first welsh highland railway group work at beddglelert station i saw in the 1960s wish i had some pics the only one got is of the tunnel

We have wanted to visit this railway for a long time, as it's a private track it was never open when we were in the area,but finally we have made it.What a great place.

Markeaton Light Railway
The Markeaton Ligh Railway operates within Markeaton Park, operating two locomotives. This is the Markeaton Lady Steam Locomotive.
The railway operates most weekends during the spring, summer and autumn weekends and holiday periods.

Another great Welsh railway as we rode on it the last time we visited Welshpool we gave it a miss this time.The trains were very crowded as it was Easter,nice to see the people enjoying a trip behind a steam locomotive long may it last.

Finally we see Cricceth Castle acting as station pilot at Porthmadog Harbour Station

Our private train ride on the Corris Railway Part 1
This was the WHHR Civils gang's private visit to the Corris made on Wednesday 28th July 2010. This obscure Welsh 2' 3 gauge railway had closed many years ago so it was amazing to see how much had been achieved by the dedicated volunteers.
