Rhymney Export by Rhymney Brewery is staggering, good balance and all round taste, Real Ale Guide's first 10 out of 10 Ale / Beer would go well with an Indian meal or maybe because its from Wales why not try it with a bit of cheese on toast!! A true Welsh classic.
Export by Rhymney Brewery - Video Beer Review
My review of the bottled version of Rhymney Export the Silver Medal Winner at this year's Great Welsh Beer & Cider Festival.
At 5.0% ABV, this Ale has a malty, hoppy tone with some wine like attributes.
Taff Vale Railway 85: Raising The Echoes On The Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway - 15th September 2018
For the first time for 91 years, the South Wales Valleys would echo to the sound of a 'Taffy Tank' hard at work, as Taff Vale Railway 02 Class 0-6-2T No.85 visited the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway for their annual steam gala, held over the 14th to 16th September. While the gala had other locomotives in action, this video focuses specifically on No.85, as she charges up gradients as steep as 1 in 38, with her three coach load.
The first of four shots, we see 85 accelerating over Old pit Road, before diving over the Furnace Sidings over bridge. We next see her trundling along with the goods set, just northwest of Forge Side Road. Back on the passenger set now, and we see 85 putting on a blistering performance, storming up the 1 in 59 to 1 in 38 gradient over the cycle track towards Furnace Sidings. Showcasing her abilities once more in this final shot, she is seen leaving the industrial cutting and running over New Pit Road bridge, which advertises the nearby Rhymney Brewery. The severity of the climb is clear to see, as she powers up the mix of 1 in 38, 43, 52 and 65 gradients to the Furnace Sidings over bridge.
