New Marine Industrial Park in North Carolina - Perquimans
The Perquimans Marine Industrial Park is situated in northeastern North Carolina along the beautiful Perquimans River. This 70-acre state-owned property is part of the larger 400-acre Perquimans Commerce Center just south of the historic Town of Hertford and less than one mile from U.S. Highway 17. The most compelling feature of this business park is its 10-foot deep basin offering tenants easy access to the Albemarle Sound, the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean.

The Peak - Elk Knob Game Land, NC
***I tried a couple of changes from my usual format to align with what I consider generic YouTube videos. Really, my only changes are: 1) a video thumbnail with a caption compared to simply picking out the best pictures, 2) a quick video clip at the beginning instead of starting with the video title, and 3) shortening the length of the title screen and pictures by a second or more to hasten the transition between video clips.***
***I would appreciate comments/opinions on what you think about these subtle changes.***
Another fine day for peakbagging in the Amphibolite Mountains of the northwest corner of North Carolina. The Peak is the highest summit on a prominent ridgeline north of Elk Knob. This mountain divides the headwaters of the North Fork New River and the imposing Long Hope Creek Gorge, and is the high point of Ashe County. Although a few hundred feet shorter than the highest Amphibolites, the steep slopes rise more than 2,000 feet over the surrounding watersheds. The first half of the hike is a steep road walk, covering 2 miles and 1,200 feet elevation completely exposed to the sun. The road ends in a grassy saddle, and from there it is nearly 1.5 miles of bushwhacking along the mountain crest.
We reached the first major rock outcrops 1/3 mile from the saddle. In general, The Peak features steep forested eastern slopes and nearly vertical western slopes with lots of exposed rock. From most of these rocks we had great views south of Elk Knob and Snake Mountain, with Grandfather Mountain rising behind Pottertown Gap. Occasionally we would also see Old Field Bald and the Long Hope Creek Gorge. Further southwest were the Roan Highlands, and I believe Big Bald and the southern Bald Mtns were visible. A very faint path sometimes followed the top of the mountain, and was flagged. The toughest part of the hike was after the saddle below the twin summits. The climb to the southern false summit was steep, but rewards you with multiple cliff views around the top. After the false summit any semblance of a route disappears, and we had to bushwhack a few hundred yards up slopes to the forested summit of The Peak (5,214 feet). There were some cliffs near the summit where we took a break and got better views north of the Iron Mountains around the tri-state border. After this hike I only have one more 5,000-ft peak in the Amphibolites left.
Hike was 6.4 miles with 2,277 feet elevation gain in 4 hours.

This property has over 250 feet of Russells Creek frontage, mature timber and many areas to hunt. Driving in North Carolina on US 221 from Marion to Linville Falls in the Mountains
Before entering Marion city limits, I-40 intersects with US 221. US 221 then joins with NC 226, going west around the city on the Marion Bypass. After the expressway passes the shopping centers along US 70, it continues as a four-lane highway with a turning median all the way to North Cove. Along the way, several business can be seen including shrubbery farms, stone/rock cutters, and a chemical plant. NC 226 splits early at Woodlawn, for travelers that want to go to Spruce Pine.
The climb to Linville Falls is somewhat curvy. It is a route heavily traveled by trucks, and a runaway truck ramp is located along this section. Also located in this section is Linville Caverns, a small tourist destination. At Linville Falls, nearby sites include Linville Gorge Wilderness, Linville Falls, (via NC 183) and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

North Carolina Land for Sale 1.23 Acres, Cleveland County, Owner Financing
This beautiful property combines the potential of a flat open field with the beauty of the natural North Carolina wilderness. From the road on Fulton Street, the property is guarded by a thin row of medium to large trees. As you walk through the trees, the property clears up slightly. There is a significant decline in terrain from the road toward the center of the property. On the lot, you will see an abandoned trailer, a well, and a small house. After the ground levels off from the road, the elevation stays pretty consistent throughout the property. There are quite a few cleared out walkways to access the property, but no official driveway or entranceway. At the corner of the property on Fulton Several small walkways, power and line polls at the border. On the other side of the wooded area is a flat, open clearing surrounded by a row of trees on all sides. There are houses on three sides, and a fallen tree on the property.
