Royal Borough of Richmond upon Thames , London
Best places to visit in England . Video we took of the Royal Borough of Richmond upon Thames, a jewel in London’s crown. Probably London's most attractive borough, it has long been a favourite retreat for Royalty and the rich and famous.
The River Thames runs for over 10 miles through the borough, linking Hampton Court Palace, Richmond Town Centre and Kew Gardens with London. Richmond rivals anywhere in London with its beautiful Royal Parks and open spaces, historic houses, theatres, museums, galleries, exhibits and town centres bursting with life.
Richmond is situated 10 miles southwest of Central London and can be accessed by tube, train, bus, car, bike, boat and foot. With easy access and a world to see and do, Richmond upon Thames provides the perfect getaway.

On my way up the parking of Richmond Public Market, a Toyota Sienna backed up on me and completely denied that it was his fault. The case is now with ICBC, and hope they find this driver to be at fault as I was on a complete stop.

Alan Gilpin wrote in to say that this is not Greater London but Richmond in North Yorkshire, as can be seen from the Ox Roast in the cobbled market and the wooden mock-up of a Norman Castle in the field below the Culloden Tower.
Amendment July 2011:
Originally the digital canister notes said Richmond, Greater London. A viewer wrote in telling us that this is Richmond in North Yorkshire, and that the reel shows the 600th anniversary of the granting of the Richmond market charter.

Walking in London: London walk in Kingston upon Thames town centre
This London walk takes place in Kingston-upon-Thames in Surrey – a 30-minute train ride from Waterloo Station. This 17-minute walk takes you from Kingston Bridge into Kingston town centre via the ancient market square, Clattern Bridge, Rose Theatre and Kingston Town Hall. I then turn down through the main shopping area to end at Kingston’s Red Telephone Boxes architectural installation. The train station to London Waterloo is just around the corner from there. Part 1 of this walk takes you along Kingston Riverside.

The two combined walks – Kingston Riverside (Part 1) and Kingston Town Centre (Part 2) - work very well in reverse, starting at the telephone boxes and ending at Ravens Ait where a pub or two is around the corner for refreshment before the return walk. Or you could continue to Surbiton (around 20 minutes) and get a train to Waterloo from there (I can provide route information or a new walking video on this). From Surbiton you can also take a train to Hampton Court (King Henry VIII) and either walk back along the tow path to Kingston (a good 30-45 minutes, especially if you are tired by then!) or take the train again. In summer, boats also run along this stretch to Kingston and Richmond.
My equipment:
Gimbal - DJI Osmo 2 Mobile, what a joy this has been to learn and balance;/
LG mobile phone - a bit on its last legs and overheating at all the hard work, but just about hanging in there.
I do the immersive first-person walks with these two items.
For vlogging to camera, I use my Canon G7X Mark ii. One day I hope to buy a proper camera gimbal so as to use the Canon for the actual filming, but this will take a bit of saving up for, and then a bit of learning!
Autumnwatch: UK Birds including London Parrots | Novmber
Interesting to see how many birds visit Jim's Allotment feeding stations and the different species of native birds living alongside exotic birds.
London legend states: The blighters escaped from the set of The African Queen, which was filmed at Isleworth Studios in 1951. This is the part of town where large flocks were first noticed.

430 London Rd Newmarket Open House Video Tour
Situated within the well-established Bristol-London neighbourhood of Newmarket, welcome to 430 London Road, a beautiful two-storey home with a private, tree-lined back yard.
Interlocking walkways lead to the front entry and to the back yard, while the natural tones of the brick exterior and carriage-style garage doors, as well as the lush greenery of majestic trees and perennial gardens add curb appeal.
The enclosed front entry opens into a spacious tiled foyer inviting you into a main level with generously sized principal rooms that are beautifully finished with gorgeous oak hardwood floors, and which are brightened with natural lighting and pot lights throughout.
A large bay window with California shutters brings natural light into a spacious living room overlooking the front yard, and which is open to an incredibly functional and beautiful kitchen. Showcasing granite countertops with breakfast seating, a tumbled marble back splash with accent design by the stove, as well as custom cabinetry with molded uppers and a stand-alone pantry - the kitchen is complete with stainless steel oven with gas cook top, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge - as well as a spacious breakfast area that has a walk-out to a spectacular sunroom.
Off the main hallway, and through a double French door entry, is a cozy family room warmed by a gas fireplace with floor-to-ceiling brick - and which also features a wall pass-thru to maintain an open concept feel between this space and the adjacent breakfast room.
A walk-out from here opens to the sunroom - a fabulous addition to the home. A full wall of windows, three skylights, and pot lighting naturally and ambiently brighten this space - while custom shades offer light control, and ceiling fans keep fresh air circulating. The sunroom has a sliding door walk-out onto a partially covered barbecue deck with a skylight and a privacy wall - and a set of stairs leads down to the fenced-in and private backyard filled with perennial beds, shrubs, and mature trees, and which also features an interlocking patio area beneath the sunroom. Wooden floors, as well as wood-paneled ceilings and an accent wall adds rustic cottage-like charm, while a gas fireplace brings cozy warmth during cooler weather.
Completing the main level is a double coat closet in the foyer - while off the foyer can be found a laundry room with abundant cabinetry storage, stacked front load washer and dryer, and a side door entry; a powder room; as well as an additional storage closet.
The staircase has hardwood treads and rails accented with white risers and spindles - and leads to an upper level with a carpeted hallway, and newer broadloom in three of the four bedrooms. These bedrooms are very generous in their size, have large double closets, as well as large windows for plenty of natural light - and share a main washroom with tiled floor, a jetted corner tub, as well as tumbled marble countertops and tub surround.
The master bedroom is graciously sized, and features newer laminate flooring; a huge walk-in closet with organizers; as well as an ensuite washroom with tumbled marble floor, a glass shower with pot lights, and a granite-topped vanity.
The finished lower level brings additional family and entertaining space to the home - and features plenty of storage, including a cold room, and a bonus room that can be utilized to suit personal needs. This level also features a 4-pc washroom with a glass shower and double basins in the vanity; a spacious recreation area with pot lights; a fifth bedroom; a sauna; as well as a walk-out onto the covered interlocking patio area in the backyard.
Across the street from Marilyn Powell Park, and walking distance to Denne Public School, Dr. John M. Denison Secondary School, and public transit - this home is close to the numerous shopping plazas along Yonge Street, the Upper Canada Mall, both the East Gwillimbury and Newmarket GO Stations, and is just a short drive to access Hwy 404.

Gimbal - DJI Osmo 2 Mobile. I am still very much a learner!
LG mobile phone - a bit on its last legs and overheating at all the hard work, but just about hanging in there. The seasick camera movements are a combination of old equipment and me just not being that good (yet!).
I do the immersive first-person walks with these two items.
For vlogging to camera, I use my Canon G7X Mark ii. One day I hope to buy a proper camera gimbal so as to use the Canon for the actual filming, but this will take a bit of saving up for, and then a bit of learning!
