Ottawa City Guide: Parliament Hill, ByWard Market and CF Rideau Centre Mall
We spent a day touring the Capital of Canada, Ottawa, as we toured Parliament Hill, ByWard Market and the CF Rideau Centre Mall.
We started off the day by exploring ByWard market and its numerous restaurants, shops and street stalls. We had lunch at The Aulde Dubliner, and the kids loved it! The spacious seating and laid back early afternoon vibe made it quite welcoming for our crew of 5!
We continued our day in Ottawa at the CF Rideau Centre mall, which is a surprisingly good and fun mall! The Disney Store kept the kids entertained for some time and let them blow off some much needed steam - needed for me, that is. ;)
We topped it off with some ice cream and more shopping.
We then made our way to the Supreme Court of Canada and finally to Ottawa's Parliament Hill, one of Canada's most iconic set of buildings. We got unlucky as it started to pour just as we made it... But we made the best of it, snapping a couple of pictures and explaining to Ava what the Parliament is all about.
All in all, everyone of us enjoyed Ottawa and we can't wait to return.
We will have another Ottawa video coming up that will be featuring the Canada Science and Technology Museum, we couldn't fit it here since we spent way too much time there!
Don't forget to give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed and to subscribe for more travel content!

About us: We are Daniel, Robyn, Ava, Rose and Ella, and together we are The Go To Family. We love to travel! We also love food, exploring historical sites and, of course, doing loads of fun things together as a family.
In our videos, you will see me and Robyn tackle every obstacle that traveling with kids throws at us. We do traveling almost exactly the same way we did before having kids, it just takes a little bit more planning these days. The result, however, is simply more fun! It's also very rewarding to be able to show the kids new cultures and live new experiences with them at the same time. Our mission is to inspire other Millennials to travel with kids.
Our 7-year-old daughter, Ava, also has her own YouTube channel. Feel free to check it out right here:
We also really enjoy posting to Instagram, you can check out our channels here:

Shopping at Rideau Centre in Ottawa
I go shopping for toys in Ottawa, Canada at the Rideau Centre in the core of downtown. By toys I mean adult toys and no not those kind of toys but toys that adults use such as an iPhone, external hard-drives and the like. I also expose you to the depths of my recent coffee addiction that started with one espresso in my room at Hotel Cafe Royal. That said, Tim Hortons is a Canadian icon so when in Rome...
I also got stuck in a big traffic Jam on the Queensway in Ottawa which reminded me why I love living on Little Corn Island where there are no cars and traffic jams are as are merely a phrase.

Walkabout Video (Type 1) #2: Going to Rideau Centre, Ottawa
This video is my second walkabout video. I am on a trip to the Rideau Centre in Ottawa to buy a new phone that has a better camera, so that I can make better videos :)
Who am I? I am a PhD student in Political Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. My academic interest is in world-systems theory and in Japanese culture, politics, history, movies, tv dramas, idol culture and so on. I received my Master's Degree in Pacific and Asian Studies from the University of Victoria in Victoria BC, Canada, and I specialized in systemic interactions between Tonga, Fiji, and Samoa between 1770 and 1870. For my Bachelor's degree I double-majored in Anthropology and in Pacific and Asian Studies.
I am interested in politics (as you can guess), Youtubing (although I am new at it), anime, idols, J-pop, and all things Japanese. Finally, I am unashamedly opinionated.
