Utah State Route 9 through Zion NP (Zion Mount Carmel Highway)
Driving along Utah State Route 9 on the Zion - Mount Carmel Highway section through Zion National Park. This road begins just north of St. George and at the Mount Carmel Junction, passing towns as Hurricane, La Verkin and Springdale. It's main purpous is serving Zion National Park. The road has been added to the state highway system in the 1910s and 1920s.
The SR-9 contains the famous Zion - Mount Carmel Highway Tunnel, a 1.1 mile (1,8 kilometer) tunnel that connects the eastern entrance of Zion NP to the canyon itself.

After our 12 day boon docking adventure in Lone Rock Beach (it was awesome…you should check it out!!), we headed West to St. George, Utah.

When we were planning our trip out West, we knew that we had to see Zion National Park! Even though we were trying to reserve sites months in advance, we were unable to find any availability close to the park itself. So, we decided to stay in St. George which is only about 45 minutes to the park’s entrance. Added bonus?…My (Tara) uncle lives there!! ????
In this video, we will show you the RV park where we stayed and take you on an amazingly beautiful motorcycle ride through Zion National Park!! It was an amazing day and so great to have the chance to ride with My Uncle Jim!
Unfortunately, the weather was uncooperative during our stay and we were only able to get to Zion that one time. We will definitely be back to explore more of that amazing park! ????

Along the virgin river near the narrows below angels landing zion national park
Chrisitan playing in the water..This section of the virgin river is where you ride the shuttle bus up to the end and then walk along the river about a mile or so till the trail ends. That is where people begin walking in the water to hike the narrows The narrows is a deep sandstone canyon with sheer rock walls. The Virgin river is what cut the canyon--the canyon itself is of course---the center of Zion national park. The famous angels landing--considered the most scary hike in the United States is DIRECTLY ABOVE US in the videos. We are in the bottom of the canyon--angels landing you hike up and are LOOKING DOWN into the canyon. (alot of good info there)

This video is about our road trip in the U.S. In this part, we had 6 days left after the conference. We visited Zion National Park, Kolob Canyon, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon. Our time was a little bit tight, so we didn't spend much time at each place. However, we got the new experience from every place that we have been to. 10 days, 5 states: Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Neveda, Arizona. 5 national parks: Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton, Zion, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon. 4000 km and 1 happy couple.

WE SEE HERE KOLOB ARCH IN ZION NATIONAL PARK, the 2nd largest natural arch in the western hemisphere and the 6th largest in the world. That’s right it’s in the top 10! Coming in with an impressive span of 287 ft.

THE KOLOB ARCH TRAIL.
Exit I-15 on exit 40 and go east on the Kolob Canyon Road, after the visitor center drive for 3.7 miles to the Lee Pass Trailhead. Park and jump on the La Verkin Creek Trail. The trail is mostly downhill for the next 7 miles. When you come the sign that says Kolob Arch to the left go to the left. The hike up the small canyon that leads to Kolob Arch is the most rugged part of the trail. The path is usually well marked, but a couple scramble points are marked with cairns. Keep in mind once you get to Kolob Arch your hike is only half way done (if you are going in and out). Returning to your car is the hard part of the trail, because now it’s all basically uphill.
Kolob Arch is not a good trail to get into hiking with. It is a great trail if you’re accustomed to long trails and varying conditions (stone, sand, inclines, declines, and stream crossing). It does offer great solitude. The views are not great until you get into Hop Valley, which is about 5.5 miles in on the hike. There are some great backpacking locations as you get deeper into the backcountry of Kolob Canyon and you can even connect over to the main section of Zion National Park. Make sure you got your permits!
