We Learned to Surf in Rincon, Puerto Rico!
Our trip to Puerto Rico was mainly for a speaking gig that Dayna had. She spoke at two different events about Radical Unschooling and Peaceful Parenting, while in Puerto Rico. Our family loves new and exciting learning adventures. Nurturing passions and cultivating new interests through travel, is our favorite way to experience time together. This Surfing lesson was with an amazing Surf School called, Rincon Surf School. They spent half of the day with us and focused on every detail. Not only did they make sure we knew how to surf, but they empowered us to do so! The posiitvity and support of Unschooling by the surf school meant so much to our family.

What is there to do in Rincón, Puerto Rico? There are a lot more activities in Rincon than just surfing.
Today we’ll take you to our favorite spots in Rincon. We’ll visit the Rincon Art Walk in the main plaza of the town and have a couple of beers at a local brewery called Rincón Beer Company.
Our next stop is over at Steps beach, we’ll tell you about the Reserva Marina Tres Palmas and from there we’ll take you to the Rincon Lighthouse called “Faro de Punta Higuera” and the Parque Pasivo right in Punta Higüera.
And we take you to visit Domes beach. This is one of our favorite spots in Rincón. Playa Domes is one of the most popular surfing spots all over the island, and is named after a nearby inactive nuclear power plant!

Rincon is a little piece of North America, which was something we did not expect! It is on my top places in PR just for the easy, go-with-the-flow vibes and the great food options! Maybe because it is home to many people from the states it was a feeling of home for me, but I also completely felt the PR vibes as well so I think it is a great mix of the cultures. I will definitely want to visit again and hope for higher waves next time!
I would recommend all the restaurants we ate at, as well as a the few I mentioned that we did not get to go to because the reviews were amazing!
Gastropark@115 was a place I did not mention but I wanted to badly for them to be open! So you might check that out as well!
It was so much fun to edit this and think back to our time in PR, how we miss it!!!
